I'm constantly amazed by how many people on here are sea faring types, there's Bobbin' Along, Red Adair (I think), our new friend from Bridlington, Rover49 used to be that's just off the top of my head.

Loads of them went to Trinity as well. Do they still teach sailing at Trinity?

These seafaring types have to have something to think about when they are about their hazardous business on the High Seas, and as Hull, as a City, has a strong seafaring tradition along with Rugby League. So the thought of home, their loved ones and beating Hull FC that keeps them going. Unless they are like Mr W. who has the unfortunate habit of supporting the Black and Whites. He is however spreading the word about RL to his Latvian and Russian shipmates. Even a couple of soft Southerners are made to watch, as Mr W. commandeers the Sky remote most weekends. Tough life this seafaring lark, Sky TV in everyone's cabin.

Ah, forgot about your husband. Loved it the other week when Little Robin Redhead suggested a trip on the ferries when he was next on leave!

Must be quite difficult maintaining a relationship at times I would imagine, although Ms. Terrorist would like nothing better than me slinging my hook for a couple of months on occasion.

Don't know if you can class the new brid ambassador as a "sea fairing type" didn't he say he was army..

Love the life, he's home for 4 weeks then away for 4 so it's not like some who have to be away for 3 months at a time. It's what you get used to. Been together 24 years, but only spent 12 of them actually in each others' company.
He goes off and does all macho things with ships and oil rigs, I have my own space etc. here at home.

Only trouble being, time seems to pass so quickly. For the majority of people they do the Monday to Friday thing, looking forward to the weekend, have to cram so much into those two days. We get to have a whole four weeks and can do so much more.

Besides we'd probably not be together if we had to do the 24/7 stuff! Absence makes the heart grow fonder.........so they say.

I know rover49 was a bit gay when he was in the navy but I always assumed it was a bit of a myth.

I love watching the programme about the trawler men, looks flipping crackers that job, you've got to admire them.

Drove past Ms. Terrorists and I's first flat last night on the way to retrieve my cash card, brought back a few memories.

If it's that one I think his wife makes them, haven't had one for years but they used to be very good.
