Just how many promising forwards do we need???
Halfback cover, a wing and a replacement if Joel Clinton goes I'd think would be priorities.
If Paea and Withers are confirmed that only leaves 2 or 3 non-club spots in the 25, if my count is right.

What's a non-club spot? Rovers must still have stacks of cash to spend. Released from the 2011 caploads to go at. Hudgell has said the new man will be given cash to bring in a few new players. |

non-club is my shorthand for the limit on non-club-trained players (or those under 21 like Griffin) you can have in your top 25 earners. As you need 8 club-trained players in your 25, it is effectively 17.
Rough head count... Taulapapa, D. Hodgson, Webster, Hall, J. Hodgson, Dobson, Green, Wheeldon, Netherton, Galea, Horne, O'Hara. That is 12. Excluding Paea, Withers and Clinton. And anybody I've forgotten. It's okay having cash or cap space, but if we sign Barlow, for example, it'll be going on a very small number of very big earners, you'd assume. |

I see. Has Hudgell actually said you'll be spending the full salary cap? In the HDM it saidWe still have significant room on the cap to take us to the limit and I am confident our new coach will be able to strengthen us in the key areas for next season."
Not sure whether Hudgell has actually promised to spend the full cap here, just talks about having a lot left. As you say, to spend the same on incoming as outgoing players must mean a couple of world class players coming in. |

Just saying I'm not sure exactly what he has said, or at least what it means. The implication in the article is that he's promised to spend the full cap, which would be a nice thing to have communicated with passes on sale shortly.
