Btw, I Sky+'d the game and watched it again when I got in last night. Hicks actually had a decent game and bar the 2nd Hull KR try (obstruction by Ellis) he got nothing majorly wrong. A couple of 50/50 calls at the PTB for both teams being the only ones I saw.
Why fans of a team top of the championship think they should be winning away at a SL team sat 3rd in the table having beaten Cas (home) and Wigan & Hull"s biggest club away is beyond me. Looks like you lot are catching Leyther syndrome!icon_wink.gif'"
I don't think there's any bitterness it was quite a normal thread (we did well against a team in form better than some SL sides) kind of thing then one of your wit fans turns up spouting crap and it decends into this we're not Leigh Sheens is a excellent coach over 7000 average at home in the championship ( which you could only dream of ) so as I said no bitterness here and the attitude of both teams seems to be totally different this season

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

It wasn't ignored there reacting to the bellend fan as you well know

| Full credit to you guys. You played exactly as you would expect a Tim Sheens coached side to do in that first half. Very few errors meaning a high completion rate, coupled with a good long kicking game from Abdull and Elis. We struggled to go with you in that first 40. However, when we picked up the pace towards the end of the 1st half (Brining and Kopczak had a huge part to play in that), you started to lose the ruck speed and we went straight down the middle making metres each time.
Thought your 2 scrum tries were well worked. (Lunt was outstanding in that 1st half). 2nd try was obstruction, but think it was a case of seeing what you can get away with and if the ref doesn't see it then it's to your advantage.
Thought your supporters were loud, helped make a decent atmosphere and outsung us in that 1st half, admittedly we didn't have much to shout about at that point. Extremely disappointing to hear though that our club mascot was attacked by a group of your "supporters" in the fans bar prior to the game. The guy might be dressed as our owner, but is still just a fan doing a job trying to engage with the kids
You guys are a SL club in waiting and it will be interesting to see how you progress under Sheens over the next few years. Good luck for the rest of the season and see you next year in SL

Re-read the posts from Gallanteer, Mox & BF and tell me no bitterness there.
Your lot played really well last night and deserve a lot of plaudits yet some of your fans want to focus on spouting cr@p about salary caps, how Hicks shafted you etc instead of focusing on the positives.
Btw, someone posted something about Josh Jones being along the lines of "a dirty grub". Never had a disciplinary issue with us so wondered where this came from as he's always just been a really hard working, tough grafter in a Salford shirt.

I responded in kind to the posters from your club.
The above 3 points are accurate though.
We gave you a very good game. You are well coached. Watson was well schooled by Sheens in his time there.
Brining was your best player and changed the game. You scored 18 points with him on the pitch. 6 points in the last 25 minutes destroys the we tired argument.
Rodney Trotter's interpretation of the ruck favoured only one side.

I was there from 6:45 in the bar, didn't witness any trouble with the mascot. It was light hearted banter, he was pretending to drop a goal..didnt see any malice.
But ...finally a sensible post. Thank you reds89.
I was starting to lose my sanity reading the rest of the posts..

The voice of an impartial assessment. Brining was quality and got you going forward. He and Lunt were excellent.
I have no beef with Salford fans. I showed and walked with one the way to our ground for the million pound game. He had flown from Bologna that day to be there. I was happy for him afterwards.
All teams have Muppets following them. Unfortunately some of yours thought they could come goading on here.
Just be aware when you do you might not like the response. It's poor form to start squealing when people do.
Bet sale slim isn't........slim.
Good luck to you this year. It's good to see other clubs than the usual 4 doing well.

I am neither young enough, rich enough, or well dressed enough to go in a gin bar sir.
If it was the 18th century then I would be able to and I'd be rioting at the gin shop with the rest of the hoy poloy.
Unfortunately a blast of methamphetamine has seen me through the game, the night and helped me be on the same emotional state as our friends from Salford.

I didn't need to work it out, just go speak to Tony P.

The RFL worked it out and deducted them points for doing so.
The shock about that was the RFL 'worked something out'.

| I don't know one fan who actually thought we would win last night? Hopeful yes but that's about as far as it went.Watched it back on sky and we played well, just the size and speed we didn't handle in first 20 of 2nd half but weathered that and were still in a position to get a result at back end .looking forward to watching other 2 tv games then the draw. More positive than negative for us and I feel a little happier than I did in regards middle8s especially if the 2 or 3 new faces materialise

My post was a reaction to that be11end who came on here. I'm not one for getting wound up on a forum and stating bitter facts to support an argument but that guy spouts some bull, and feel free to check my post history back to 2006 for clarification of this.

Think there is a general lack of perspective from posters on this thread.
Salford are riding high in SL and are having an impressive season thus far. KR are rebuilding after a crushing defeat in MPG. Comments comparing the two teams from a comparable standing are frankly diluded. It is well documented that KR are spending well below cap, I have no idea what Salford are spending (I don't really care). What is known is that Salford squad is largely the same as last season so they have stability to build from and this shows in SL standings. KR's on the other hand has seen wholesale changes and is made up of largely young players with a smattering of old experienced heads. Comments regarding Salfords attendances are fact, no hiding the point but if MK is happy to keep spending good money after bad thats up to him. MK's character will always be questioned when he is so active in social media and happy to engage in publicity stunts (celebrations with cheque at Craven Park, now that was pathetic to use your phrase). Accusations about salary caps breachs are inevitable, once an entity has been branded and proved to be a cheat it very hard to shake that off, even if there is no recent or new evidence.
Best team won on the night. No complaints form this supporter, Ref was fine missed a few things for both teams. Plenty of positives from KR perspective and very very unlikely that we will play Salford in middle 8's. Number 1 priority for KR this season is promotion and to test progress against two SL teams is good gauge to continue building from.
