Galea was as poor as Newton last night, very quiet game by his high standards, Newton IMO is still getting back to full fitness after his injury layoff, hopefully he will get back to the player we all know he can be. Time for Vella to hang his boots up now. Lovegrove and Cook should have been on the bench for Murrell and Netherton too, far more go forward was needed of the bench.

thought Vella played well, pretty good go forward to be fair to him.

Taylor was impressive, could be a massive player for us if he keeps developing. If we win against Bradford we cling on to the fading hope of reaching the playoffs but its looking unlikely now (not that at any point this season is has looked all that likely icon_lol.gif )

Taylor looks a very good prospect, but hes been forced into the props and doing the hard yards up the middle as Galea/Newton dont get subbed. (the same happened with Frankie and also Cox last night) he looks as strong as an ox and id like to see him running out wider.

He did the hard yards very well though and at the moment with our pack thats what we needed him to do. Speaking of Cox he had a decent game too

Thought the team did well '"

You obviously have the same mentality as Morgan if you think doing "well" is conceding 46 points to a severley depleted , out of form, struggling Huddersfield who had lost five of their last seven (inc to Wakefield..)..

Quote: dum-dum "What makes you feel so strongly about how poor we are, what's so different now, because we are in Superleague should we be going away to Huddersfield and turning them over or beating Saints in the cup?'"

You do realise that we spend the same amount of money as those teams on our squad..??? I think that gives the fans and more importantly , the blokes financing it , every right to think we should be competing with those teams.....perhaps it is the oft repeated mantra of survive, consolidate, challenge...well we are well beyond that point but look further and further away from challenging for anything..perhaps it is the same old bull that Morgan and some senior players, who should know better ,come out with every year about getting to Wembley or Old Trafford...why would anyone think we should not be competing with these teams.., what is the point of spending upto the cap if we dont think we can compete, why is someone wilfully spending money on rubbish if we cant compete..????

Unfortunately it looks as though the legacy of Morgan will be to leave us struggling in the mid to lower reaches of SL for a few seasons at least...

I don't think Huddersfields squad was so depleted, don't mug yourself. Brough and Robinson, Faiumu, Crabtree, Cudjoe, McGillvary... Not a bad side at all, looking to return to winning ways.

It's easy to say they've spent the same money and expect us to be as good, doesn't work like that though, does it?

Firstly - We were on full cap [iwith [/iWillie Mason, He's not playing though, is he? So I would have thought our squad, although we have spent the cap is not a full cap squad.

It's been pointed out a few times, If a player has the choice to come to Hull KR or St Helens for the same money, they would go to Saints, naturally... So it's not hard to work out that the majority of our squad, if they'd had a similar choice have chosen Rovers because we offered more money to them.

Some good things from yesterday but it was just a shame some really bad defensive plays cost us overall - again

Positives - Plenty of local players in the team and at times we looked pretty useful with the ball in hand. You could see the potential Sheriff would add offensively and I hope he gets some more game time soon. His mistakes were for all to see but let's give him a bit of time.

Negatives - same old problems going back for too long now. We conceded 46 points to a fairly average Huddersfield team. For 50mins or so we were right in the game and the Giants weren't doing that much. 1st half 3 tries came directly/indirectly from high kicks and then Andy Raleigh evaded tackles from something like half the team. Add the Horne try and that was game over. We're just far too soft and as Sky commentary said after a few tries we conceded - that's why we/Hull KR aren't in the top 8. Our defensive record against the top 8 is awful. Phil Clarke moment ... Outta' 13 games this season we've conceded 454 points against the top 8 - ave just abt 35 points. No were near good enough.

The season isn't over being only 1pt behind Hull (who don't exactly look too good either). OK we won't trouble anyone but isn't the top 8 worth a potential franchise point

Hudderfield were missing Lawrence, Brown , O'Donnell, Fa'alago , Lunt , Mason , Wardle and Ferguson, 8 players , 4 of them internationals , probably the leagues best second row pairing and six who would walk into Rovers team...

Depleted..??? Slightly..........

Brown rotates the squad week in week out, the 'lesser' players get first team often, The squad they put out against us would walk into the Rovers team, just like they walked through us at times. If your upset with yesterdays result you may need to pinch yourself and wake up.

i thought vella, the young lad on debut and webster all played well, there were times in the game for the first hour when if you had scored next the game could have changed... The young full back sherriff was exposed against Brough the best spiral bomb kicker in the league he looks capable of being a good player to me.... we had a couple of players raleigh, horne etc who had big points to prove to NB and played above themselves... it was a very good game of RL far better than the Hull v wigan match.... if you tighten your defence you have the flair to beat most teams... question of whether your coach like ours knows his best 17 and gets the chance to play them....

Almost forgot at times that Cox was on a debut, didn't look out of place at all.

The commentators summed it up when they suggested Brough could have played in a dinner suit and just kicked his bombs when needed, probably true.

We said the same. Something's not right with Brough and Hudds at the moment. Dropped from kicking duties too, after Brown slated him last week.

Aye , winning mentalities not allowed at Rovers at the mo, its great to have aspirations to be not very good but thankfully the men who matter and pay the wages dont share your attitude....the bullet is going to be bitten shortly because JM is now doing more harm than good...
