| shame for the bloke, as no one wants to see bad injuries, but once your knees are giving this much problem there will always be a question mark about them giving way again, one things for sure you will miss him as a very good player

Agree 100%,I think it will be tough to come back after major problems with both knees now,as I posted terry knew on sunday his season was over, and sadly perhaps his career ?

| If we are lucky he might just be available for Week 1 next season, but will miss the entire preseason. If we are sensible, he will begin playing for us again around Easter next year. If like some of my fellow posters you are glass half empty, then you'll be thinking he may be announcing his retirement from the game in 12 months time.
I personally think he will make it back on to the park and we will get a minimum of 15 good games from him next year. The guy oozes class and is very determined.
Good luck with the operation, rehab and recovery skipper!!

| It's ok being glass half full but serious injuries to both knees doesn't look good for him long term. He's class yes but personally I doubt we'll see him in a Rovers shirt again, just my opinion.

| do you think rovers will give him time to recover and play again? its a funny one as some will argue he should whilst others will want to get shut now and find a replacement, as ive said when on the pitch a class act but is it worth the risk?

Yes, according to Chris Chester and the man himself, he is expected to recover from his injury and return next season.
This guide gives some indication of the type of surgery required and recovery time, it seems most sports people go back after about six month but full recovery can be 9 months to even a year in some cases.

Before he signed he was labelled by the canberra fans and others as finished,he has proved them wrong with some stellar displays so far,but I feel the injury to his "good" knee means he is probably one awkward tackle away from being finished completely.Of course the club should look after him,but playing in such a key position makes him high risk.
Injuries have blighted this season and I feel we should maybe think long and hard, about him for next season iam afraid sentiment in sport tends to get you nowhere and remember the quality he has shown this season,on and off the pitch and see if we can use his vast qualities in some other capacity at the club IMO.

Whatever the final outcome, whether it be this year or whenever I certainly agree with you regarding his retention in some capacity at the club.
He is a great player and a great guy, imo, it would be a shame not to keep those qualities that he possesses within the club for the benefit of the club for future years.

| It will give Blair chance to see what he can do at 6, it is what he was brought here for. Maybe bring in a loan back rower to cover for Blair if one is available.

Can't see anything but this happening again next year, if he even comes back from this. Shame, very good player, but is 10-15 games a season enough?'"
Is 10-15 games enough.....don't know ask Gareth Ellis.

| Quote: barham red "He's got no pace and is finished, never cut it in super league. He was also going to Wigan once the last bit was proved to be rubbish. All this was common knowledge.
As PR said all speculation is just that pure speculation and secondly did you manage to ejaculate into your pants quite so hard when Luke Walsh got injured or is it just our half back you seem pleased to see injured.'"
Along with Mrs B's damp undies, Wilf's computer steaming with him waiting to do a book on Campo's injury and the usual suspects in meltdown it must be a pretty messy place on the forum above.

| It appears some say get rid of him now, some say there's no sentiment in sport, some believe he will never put on a Rovers shirt again and some feel it's only a matter of time before it happens again.
You're all probably right in some capacity to think along these lines.
In response I would say you should consider this - We are a Rugby League club and NOT a football club. We are Hull KR, a family orientated neighbourhood club run by half decent people who have integrity. East Hull people who have been brought up to believe that a deal is a deal, even though some people like Ryan Bailey, Neville Costigan, several others and their agents have difficulty with this concept. Therefore we owe it to Campo to see if he is true to his current aspiration of full recovery and playing again next year. If we cut and run from his deal now, it would say To him that we don't believe him and our player loyalty ethos and his recent extended contract equate to political spin and a work of fiction respectively.
I think it's likely we will bring in a more junior replacement and it may reshape our marquee player thinking. It's also possible that we may realign the value of his contract to reflect his likely absence period.

I may be wrong but didn't you get rid of James Webster mid season due to a shoulder injury? I also remember you sacking Taulapapa off before the season even started because your new coach decided he didn't want him.
