| Quote gingerspice="gingerspice"Good post easty I'm now starting to believe in the team and foremost sandy it's just took a while for things to happen but he does seem to be the real deal.'"
I think the problem Sandy had in his early days winning people over, is he is the polar opposite of Justin. He's very intense and not particularly media savvy. But he seems to have faith in his team, and has regulary said, if they play for 80 minutes, they can be a match for any team in the league. Unfortunately it's taken a while to get anywhere near 80 minute performances out of them.

Yep totally agree with the above it can take a while for change to happen and for the better to be honest I'm glad he's chilled out a bit more cos at the beginning it was boring listening to why we was losing, and I'm glad he not a media freak like Morgan was.

| Quote WormInHand="WormInHand"Yes, with me. Then we concluded that it was nothing to do with fountains or vessels, but with the first printing presses that brought knowledge to the masses for the first time in the fourteenth century. The letter blocks used in the press were called fonts, and became known as the fonts of all knowledge. Fount is the anomoly. Had you forgotten?'"
fount2
n
(Communication Arts / Printing, Lithography & Bookbinding) Printing a complete set of type of one style and size Also called (esp US and Canadian) font
[from Old French fonte a founding, casting, from Vulgar Latin funditus (unattested) a casting, from Latin fundere to melt;
So that one is not proven conclusively either way. It's also worth looking up the translation of the writings of St John of Damascus referred to as "the fount of knowledge". Pretty early stuff, that is.

Well you might not be interested Sandra but there are enough references to Agar in here to keep the neighbours happy.

If you believe the traditional "fountain or font of all knowledge" being a metaphor for a gushing fountain or pool of God-given knowledge, then yes.
But I'm now convinced by the fourteenth century version - the little melted down blocks or fonts that were the letters on the early printing presses. These first made reading material accessible to the public and gave them knowledge never before obtainable. A much more down-to-earth and socialist theory, with not a deity in sight.
(Sorry, Darth, this probably does belong on the Chat thread. In my defence I did originally post the question on the first Chat thread which lead to our initial (fairly civilized, for us) conversation that you've forgotten . Move it if you will.)

Is this the thing he wrote in the cave on Patmos? Or is that a different John?
