The majority of that money is a one off payment, so doesn't give us a million every year, if that is what you mean.

I think they have done a fair old stint and believe it is time for new/additional energy as well as money. It has become ever clearer that unless you are Leeds or Wigan you can't be self-sustaining and successful in SL without significant subsidy. The amount required varies from club to club - David Hughes loses a fortune at London and they're not very good. Saints have had plenty of success but the amounts McManus has pumped in are much greater than what RC and NH have at Rovers. We've realised, IMO, that a self-sustaining model doesn't work and never will, so long as other clubs are subsidised. If you can't beat them, you try to join them. Or if not, find a level where you can compete until your sugar daddy ship comes in.

Mrs b - disassociating yourself from failure or mediocrity, if you don't think you can reverse or mitigate it, seems sensible enough to me. Or perhaps he feels better able to achieve a better outcome if not bound by collective responsibility.

Exerting political pressure by being free to complain publicly, for example. I don't know the thinking behind it, but it hardly seems a bizarre decision. Like when a minister resigns from cabinet - you're not free to voice an independent view from the inside, so if you want to do that you leave. Sometimes that might give you more influence.

The red cladding does make it look different.

The blue looks okay - bland, but okay. The red towers look incongruous - like sticking a red ferrari spoiler on a blue fiesta or something. If they're purely decorative, it'd have been better to design them out if possible.

Not sure about the red bits on top of the red brickwork. Hopefull further covering to come on top

I was going to post this on the 'v Leeds' thread but that seems to have been locked, so sorry if this is not the appropriate thread.

Before you stared work on the North Stand you had one of those temporary golf stand things. Is there any reason why it wasn't moved to the South Terrace when you started work on the North Stand? As far as I can tell the footprint for both these areas are/were the same so it should have fit.

iirc it was not in the best nick and the cost of putting in footings (possibly not the technically accurate name?) was too high - though that might have been based of the North Stand getting finished somewhere closer to schedule.

Real shame too, cos' the 'Golf Stand' was going to be the first item to be sacrificed to the new biomass chemical plant, located within one the red towers.
