| Quote: craig hkr "Don't see the relevance of the players teams not making the 8 last season when you see how Warrington and Leeds have flirted with Qualifiers then Finals.Hauraki looks the least inspiring signing on paper but could do a 'Tickle' Lannon is a very good signing and Keinhorst is solid enough and remains to be seen how he goes as a regular starting player? Quinlan missing 1st half of season gives Dagger a chance and from what I've seen im confident he will excel.Im sure Thompson Dawson and the 2 bargain basement props will turn around your scorching 11 game streak. In short I agree with nothing you have wrote but other than that well done'"
I don't expect those players to help us stop our losing streak, however getting our main players back on the pitch and something to play for will help.
Do you think the signing of those 3 players will move you up the table?

We will 100% sign a half back, relying on atkin/maguire when we are not 100% confident one of them will get through a season would be suicide. I'd like to see drinkwater or Lui if available. If the rumors of brierley happening are true that would not be ideal.
I do think expectations need tapering though, the market is not good for quality players and everyone is fishing out of the same pond. We won't see superstar signings for a while and the club have done right by signing up a bunch of young lads who can develop. Has to be the matra going forward as player pool diminishes'"
Good to see someone can have a debate like an adult, some good points, there is clearly not much out there which makes it hard to recruit, London probably didn't expect to come up, so will have a lot of cap to play with.
I think both clubs have the right idea of signing young players who has potential (Or bargin basement as Craig says).
Drinkwater is a good shout, I'm surprised Catalans replaced him with Smith and that nobody has signed him yet, him and Gigot really turned there season around last year

Are you confident about Lui as you have Mcguire, Atkin and possible Carney, be suprised if you sign another halfback, it looks like Salford are building a decent side for next year, so i'd be suprised if they sold Lui?'"
No idea about Lui, but I think we’ll sign a half. Though probably not on top of Carney, if he stays.
McGuire is likely to retire after next year, and I don’t think we can rely on Dagger to play week in, week out yet. Hope is fine, reliance would be daft - so the option of moving Atkin there if Dagger struggles or is injured is desirable.
Salford - is Vatuvai still on their books? Sio would be a strange signing if so, imo. For Lui, it depends how they’re doing financially, I suppose. Recent signings suggest not too badly, in fairness.

Vatuvai was released a few weeks ago, if money is an issue, it seems strange to sign Sio and sell Lui.
I think Rovers would be mad to keep Carney and Atkin (despite being a bargin basement player) needs to play as much as possible at halfback

| I also think its worth pointing out that our team will look completely different compared to what we finished with, and our mid season signings hopefully with a full pre season add more value.
Realistically Hall, Crooks, Vaivai, tomkins did not have a full pre season and in and out of the team for various reasons. Add in Lawler, Addy who missed all of the season the make up on the team will be different, especially with those already signed.
Our form in the back end of the season was good, and I genuinely believe we only need a sprinkling of quality and we have a good squad. I'd say 3 good overseas signings will appease peoples concerns
Sio would of been an excellent option imo, however with Shaw, Hall, Oakes and lesser so Wallis you can see why maybe we haven't gone for him. If we spend that quota space on a bit of quality in forward/half back and craig hall continues his 2 in 1 strike rate I can guarentee Sio will be quickly forgotten about.

It remains to be seen who else we sign but if the jungle drums are correct then some quality signings are imminent? Our prop contingent looks very strong now.Looking at the released players we have cap space and quota space. In answer to your question then yes I feel we will finish higher than last year given a fair run regarding injuries. We had a whole season of disruption and some freak injuries to key players. Wouldn't like to predict exactly where we will end up as a lot will depend on how other teams strengthen but we start on a level playing field this season and a few teams look weaker than last year. Top 8 and a good cup run would be fair progress imo.

| I’d like to think we can add some quality and having lawler and addy fit next year is like having two new players and I think reflects on clarkson and Kavanagh been released

| I'd be surprised if Lui moved from Salford at this stage due to factors of his family being settled. Something that's quite important for his son. Plus Hastings loves playing with him, and doubt he'd have signed an extension if Lui was to go.

I've never been anywhere, just bored off my teets. If you think that other poster is me you're barking up the wrong tree. I can take the peez fine without pretending I'm someone else

Unless you sign some quality I don't see you finishing in the top 8, all the top 8 plus Leeds are stronger than you. I'd say only Wigan are weaker as it stands, but I don't see you replacing them.
As you say a lot depends on injuries, I'm guessing that's why we are signing these squad players, although I'm not sure it's the right type of players we need, I guess we will see next year

I could say the same about Hull. This injury thing has become a crutch for FC. You had no more injuries than most other teams.Granted Kelly and Sneyd are key lads but the way it's been portrayed is pathetic. The fact is Watts Fonua and most importantly Ellis have not been replaced and it seems the dressing room is now toxic? The likes of Michaels and Pritchard may have had more qualities behind the scenes than on? Radford seemed to have ousted the bad eggs and such good pros as Ellis and Chello showed the way.id think that team wouldn't take much coaching?Westerman back,Connor rumoured to be a Diva,Kelly being Kelly plus myriad players falling out with Radders and no dollars for any decent players. TBF I don't know how you would replace Ellis?

An impressive amount of made up stuff there.
TBH I don't expect us to do much better next year, I dont think we will challenge. I just don't see what makes you so confident about improving looking at your squad for next year, looking at the top 8 plus Leeds I can't see you moving up tha5 much, unless you sign 2/3 quality players.
I fully expect you to sign Abdul as you extra halfback.
