I am normally not a person who posts on other fans boards or spends time berating clubs on Twitter but after some of the comments from Hudgell. JP, and all your fans who (like Leigh last year ) think being top of championship makes you special. I will take time to come here and ask a few questions!
1) we know Salford does not have great crowds, but where was the 4000 HKR travelling support? The east stand was opened just for you and was empty! The north stand was less than half full! ( For the MPG it partly blamed Salford for inflating numbers - tonight you had 5500 places and 500 showed up.
2) thanks to Leigh last year. You have the same cap as a SL team, so why where you taken apart ( does Sheens only work for 30 mins)
3) 2 dubious tries, but hey ho!
4) like Leigh 2 years ago, your fitness is suspect. You ran out of energy after 30 minutes.
You are a good championship side, but not sure how you will do with the big boys.

Salford are spending over the salary cap you fukw1t, anyone with half a brain cell can work out that cockrash is giving back handers to players there. As for this finding it difficult against SL crap, that Salford team will probs finish top 4 this year, so I'm not worried. Rovers will get promoted without the need for the mpg. Missing a few players, we came close tonight, had it been at craven park, we'd of probably beat your boys. Feel sorry for your club a bit, doing everything they can to make RL a big deal in Salford an still you get shocking crowds. Unfortunately, you'll disappear when the cock man leaves. An ran out of energy, what a rubbish statement, had that been the case, Salford woulda and shoulda run riot, but they didn't. If we did run out of steam, then a good few SL teams need to work on their fitness to catch up with the mighty Salford don't they?
We'll be back next year, and we'll overtake you again in the next few years. Just you continue supporting little old Salford with the other thousand that attend in that tin pot stadium of yours.

I really don't know where you get off having ago at anyone's away support, when your home support is shocking, like you said in a previous post the correct team won the MPG, ask yourself this would you still have a team to talk ballocks about if you hadn't won that game? Or would you have 7 to 8000 home support and a 1000 to 1500 away supporters watching championship rugby like us?
And what statements are you talking about from JP? Because he has been pretty quiet this year so if you could point me in the direction of any statement made that would be much appreciated

Quality post from a fan of a club punished for spending over the cap, whose following numbers wise is one of the worst in the sport and a chairman who is known for his public comments of wisdom.
We have overseas quotas unfilled and are about 20% under the cap.
We tired....we did fine with 12 men in the second half and got a better result than Wigan and the sharks did when they played you at their's.
You were well looked after by Rodney Trotter.
Can someone clarify. Is punching an automatic sending off/sin bin offence still. He gave us a penalty for punching...no sending off.
You were made mugs of for large chunks of the game. The only dubious things about our tries was Dobson's defending....again
Maybe you should follow your previous idea and not post on forums at all.
You were a drop goal from going out of existence never mind relegation.
When we were in trouble our fans stepped and bought and now run the club.
When the good doctor gets bored or sectioned what is your massive fan base going to do? All put a quid in and buy one player a pair of boots.

| Wow, some of you lot have serious issues. You played well last night and lost to a better team, why so bitter? And love hearing the old "you're breaking the cap" nonsense being wheeled out again, just smacks of sour grapes.
Btw, I Sky+'d the game and watched it again when I got in last night. Hicks actually had a decent game and bar the 2nd Hull KR try (obstruction by Ellis) he got nothing majorly wrong. A couple of 50/50 calls at the PTB for both teams being the only ones I saw.
Why fans of a team top of the championship think they should be winning away at a SL team sat 3rd in the table having beaten Cas (home) and Wigan & Hull"s biggest club away is beyond me. Looks like you lot are catching Leyther syndrome!icon_wink.gif

| Btw Mox, how did you work out Salford were breaking the salary cap if it takes someone with half a brain cell to do it? Did you go halves on a brain cell with BF?

| Lunt - magnificent, Minns exceptional talent, Scruton great work horse & Abdull & Blair just about OK but Rervers need about 15 better players to mix it in SL next year. Good luck in Middle 8s and for a Friday night the support was great.
One thing about your 2 tries. Both would have been chalked off if sent upstairs & the mighty Dobson was not at fault. Watch the replays again.

| It says a lot about a set fans when the performance is ignored in favour of 'Cheating the cap', 'No fans', 'Mk is a bell-end'. Quite pathetic.

I don't think there's any bitterness it was quite a normal thread (we did well against a team in form better than some SL sides) kind of thing then one of your wit fans turns up spouting crap and it decends into this we're not Leigh Sheens is a excellent coach over 7000 average at home in the championship ( which you could only dream of ) so as I said no bitterness here and the attitude of both teams seems to be totally different this season

| Full credit to you guys. You played exactly as you would expect a Tim Sheens coached side to do in that first half. Very few errors meaning a high completion rate, coupled with a good long kicking game from Abdull and Elis. We struggled to go with you in that first 40. However, when we picked up the pace towards the end of the 1st half (Brining and Kopczak had a huge part to play in that), you started to lose the ruck speed and we went straight down the middle making metres each time.
Thought your 2 scrum tries were well worked. (Lunt was outstanding in that 1st half). 2nd try was obstruction, but think it was a case of seeing what you can get away with and if the ref doesn't see it then it's to your advantage.
Thought your supporters were loud, helped make a decent atmosphere and outsung us in that 1st half, admittedly we didn't have much to shout about at that point. Extremely disappointing to hear though that our club mascot was attacked by a group of your "supporters" in the fans bar prior to the game. The guy might be dressed as our owner, but is still just a fan doing a job trying to engage with the kids
You guys are a SL club in waiting and it will be interesting to see how you progress under Sheens over the next few years. Good luck for the rest of the season and see you next year in SL

Re-read the posts from Gallanteer, Mox & BF and tell me no bitterness there.
Your lot played really well last night and deserve a lot of plaudits yet some of your fans want to focus on spouting cr@p about salary caps, how Hicks shafted you etc instead of focusing on the positives.
Btw, someone posted something about Josh Jones being along the lines of "a dirty grub". Never had a disciplinary issue with us so wondered where this came from as he's always just been a really hard working, tough grafter in a Salford shirt.

I responded in kind to the posters from your club.
The above 3 points are accurate though.
We gave you a very good game. You are well coached. Watson was well schooled by Sheens in his time there.
Brining was your best player and changed the game. You scored 18 points with him on the pitch. 6 points in the last 25 minutes destroys the we tired argument.
Rodney Trotter's interpretation of the ruck favoured only one side.
