| Quote: easthull4 "Where is the man management skills at rovers,
I am getting vexed off with Peacock and his 5 year plan if the players who he is supposed to be bringing in like Addy who is no better than what we have next season will be same as the past 2 we will struggle only chance we have is now to win all 3 games we could still finish 3rd but need someone to take the club by the scruff of the neck and show some rubbish and common sense'"
Have to say I have sympathy with east hull 4.
I'm not really sure what the Head of Rugby is bringing to the party.
He says in his 5 year plan "My job is to create systems and structures that allow Chris to be the best coach he can possibly be.”
Well Chessie didn't benefit from those same systems and structures or the solid advice of his Head of Rugby. Yet Chris went on to prove there is a decent coach in there, even on a lower budget and without a Head of Rugby to guide him, as he comfortably moved Trinity out of the middle 8s with some ease really, from what was a dire position when he joined.
Now it appears the same is happening again with Webbo, I assume its the same great systems and structures allowing any coach to be the best they possibly can be, and yet the same on field debacle from the Robins, whilst Chessies Trinity take the last place of safety and the Robins swap places to fight it out in the dreaded middle 8s. If it wasn't serious it would be a joke.
There is a common denominator here, and at some point someone may have to start pointing fingers as clearly its not working.
I'm from the camp of wanting you you to stay up, I think the rivalry is great between us, and the league and the city need 2 Hull teams in SL. But the way things are going I'm starting to fear the worst.
Someone needs to grow a pair at your club, and its not Mr Peacock, his are big enough.
He created the role, believing all clubs would go that way. At the mo I think its you and Salford mmm thats coincidental.
Saints did have one for a while but it did not work for them either.
Time to take stock of things me thinks.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Our club is in dire need of management and has been for years, to lay the current problems at the door of Peacock is ridiculous, he's not even been in the job for a year yet.
The current situation has stemmed from years of poor recruitment and retention, just looking at the current squad and thinking its at full cap says it all. Our last 3 coaches have been poor and the rot seemed to have set in once we went down the cheap ozzie route with Sandercock, now there are plenty that will tell you he was good with younger players blah, blah but in essence he was such a downer after Morgan that it seemed to rip the verve out of the club.
JM had gone stale but his stale was light years ahead of what has followed, Sandercock was the human cure for insomnia and brought a woe is me mentality with him, but followed the fad of Mcguire and Brown. Chessie was an unispired choice and just the cheap option again followed the fad of Wane and Anderson. Webster is a stop gap because the real target can't be gotten yet, should we have kept Chester? No he'd lost it, to say he's proved hes a good coach at Wakey is pushing it, he had a quick lift effect but they are beyond dire now and he would never have done that with us.
Peacocks role needs time and will never be a quick fix, most changes to management structure, culture, strategy and direction start with a noticeable step back wards before any forward movement is made, for us this step back may be over a cliff, but the alternative seems to be slipping over that same cliff more slowly.
If and its a big if we get through this situation we will be miles better for it, whatever the end result of this year we can't throw the baby out with the bathwater though

One thing that struck me about his comments is that when asked if he would play this week he said it would depend on the outcome of a meeting between Peacock, Hudgell, Kelly and Kelly's agent. Did he just forget about Webster, or is Webster not involved? If he isn't involved then what kind of a way is that to run a club, where your head coach (interim or not) doesn't get a say in discipline or team selection.

That doesn't necessarily mean he won't play though. The discussions could carry on in the background with a decision about his future being made at the end of the year.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| The way I read things is this meeting is about whether Kelly wants to be here in 2017 to see out the final year of his contract. I would take it as a given that he has served his suspension and punishment for now and will play in the remaining 3 or 4 games of 2016 if fit.
It would also be counter-productive for club and player not to have him play in these next 3 or 4, given their significance and especially as he is being overpaid under contract.

You're right we are dire at the moment - however where you show your utter ignorance is blaming it on Chester.
Wakefield have the smallest squad in SL which has been decimated by injury in the last few month - a bit like Cas but unlike them it's under reported and no sympathy is given.
Injuries current and not playing are
England (our best prop)
Moore (our only hooker)
Gibson (our only real centre)
Kirmond (our captain)
Anakin (car crash injuries)
Owen (Car crash injuries)
Ben Jones Bishop (calf injury)
Playing but shouldn't be
Anderson (retiring end of season due to injuries)
A Tupou (broken jaw still wired up)
Ashurst (broken jaw still wired up)
Miller (bust shoulder operation next monday)
Ben Harrison (nowhere near match fit after a year off with injury)
Simon (nowhere near match fit)
That's 13 players and arguably mainly our best - it happens no complaints but it's hardly Chester's fault, especially having only one hooker and two half backs for the whole season. We were a spent force by the end of July - luckily we'd achieved safety but no longer had the bodies to maintain any real momentum.
Our seasons over we knew that a month ago, it's all about getting players fit for next season now hence the introduction of a number of academy players in the last month.
Chester needs money to spend for next season but it's totally wrong to blame him for the failings of a team he didn't put together. Brian Smith knew we were to weak to compete, he left because he didn't get the money he felt he needed to compete, in which case it makes Chesters achievements even more remarkable. Even the most rabid Trinity fans are willing to give Chester the chance to prove himself with a team of his own, let's wait and see.

| Chester has done ok for you, and I hope you sign Albert Kelly Chester got the best out of him. But I feel let down by the curse of number 7 shirt can we retire it lol look at cooke the guy was a amazing player when he wanted to be and sober. But he let himself down and the club his own words, we was told by titans fans that when Kelly wants to play he could win you the league. But if he isn't in mood he is a costly mistake. And like Neil said we have too many players costing too much with no value for it.. he said it wont be 12 out like before bet it will be 8

| The thing with Kelly at the mo isn't his playing ability but sounds more like an attitude problem. If that's the case, Sheens won't want him anyway.

I'm not knocking Chester for what he's done at Wakey but there is an element of history repeating with how he was with us. He got an initial lift and then the rot set in. There were reasons, we had injuries, Campese, Kelly, Lunt all missed big chunks but he seemed to lose the ability to get the most out of what he had available. In his last few games he looked and sounded a beaten man, very similar to how Webster was with you.
Not sure how much involvement / influence he had in our recruitment and preseason but it was beyond bad and ultimately the die was set for this season before a ball had been kicked.
