I saw them in Bradford early 90s. Johnny Marr was on guitar then as well.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |

| Quote: easthull fc fan "I like that your main topic on game day eve is about music.'"
Have you ever thought that for some of us it is providing a light hearted and welcome diversion from the doom and gloom and negativity surrounding our club and team situation at the moment?
We have vented our fury and frustration in other threads at our CC humiliation last weekend and our seasons woes to date. A news blackout by the club and a similar unwitting discussion embargo in recent days by most fans on here aimed at avoiding needless speculation, would seem to suggest one thing imo, namely:
"the time for talking is over and like the board and club management, we the fans will be expecting action in the form of a major positive reaction from the team on the park going forward, starting this afternoon at Castleford."
Although, I do not speak for other fans on here, I expect they will have plenty to say on here after the Cas game, whatever the result and performance. Let the repair and healing process begin.

Having seen them twice in their heyday, and twice recently I have to say that they are much better live now than when they were kids.

That's the same as the secret forum members who all claim to be one of the minority of fans in the dark days.

Quo-asis. Really. I'd print what I think of them but you'd only cry to the mods or offer me out.
Never done an original thing in their career. By their own admission they weren't in the top 5 bands in Manchester of their own generation.
Stone Roses
The Fall
New Order
Joy Division
The Smiths

Oasis hit at the right time with a very good front man, excellent 1st album, commercial 2nd one and never followed it up. Liam became a parody of himself.
Controversial one but I really like the roses 2nd album, think I'm the only one. It's a but overblown and self indulgent but has stood the test of time.

'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'
Yves Le Prieur, the real inventor of the aqualung: |

| Bruce Springsteen, seen him many times and he always produces the goods. In the early days he did over 5 hrs on stage, you really got your monies worth.
Other good ones were Van Halen in the early days (197icon_cool.gif, also saw Queen that year in the States, absolutely brilliant.
Smaller bands who gave a good show were Hawkwind, Squeeze and Del Amitri.
Worst, ironically was Prince at the Sheffield Arena, took my daughter & boyfriend to see him and he did 50 minutes, total rip off.

It's stretching it a bit saying Joy Division were the same generation as Oasis!

| Best band: The Clash, 1978 Leeds Uni, The atmosphere and energy was unbelievable!!
Worst band: Bay City Rollers, Blackpool 1974, before they "made it" couldn't play their instruments and did 5 songs three times! Absolute rubbish BUT we were three males amongst hundreds of girls so it turned out to be a good night!!

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil.: |
|
| Quote: dum-dum "Red hot chilli peppers, Hyde park 2004, great performance all around from Kiedis making the whole set current and personal rather than just going through the tracks. The reference to the fathers for justice guy climbing Buckingham palace walls dressed as Batman by announcing "I've figured out a way to break in to Buckingham palace, I don't want to get anybody in to trouble but I kinda figured it out". Funny, at the time.'"
I was at this gig, it was, as you say a great performance.
I thought James Brown warming the crowd up was awesome too.
However the other warm up act "Chicks on Speed" were the worst band i've ever seen closely followed by Angels & Airwaves (a Blink 182 spinoff) - seen supporting The Foo Fighters at Old Trafford cricket ground.

| Good thread this
Best – so many to choose from. Smashing Pumpkins at Leeds T&C 1993, Television at Glastonbury 2004, Love with Arthur Lee at Glastonbury in 2003. Saw Motorhead a lot in the late 80s and 90s they were always good.
Worst – Saw Crosby, Stills and Nash at Glastonbury a few years back, awful, they should have retired ages ago.
