| Quote: Mild Rover "It's a really tricky one. Dual reg can work as a development tool - predictably, Wigan, Saints and Leeds seem to do well from it. It does feel like the not all that thin edge of a farm system wedge though, especially where it is working 'best'.
Every choice is a sacrifice, and I don't think RL has faced up to that very well in recent years. Always tries to hedge its bets - goes for the best of both worlds and just falls between stools.
I'd sack off dual-reg, leave youngsters with their amateur clubs a bit longer (pro coaches to be a bit more involved to help develop good habits), have pro club run under-18s, and from there allow pro clubs to nominate players to half a dozen or so RFL-run under 21 regional academies, paid for from the clubs' sky money.
It's far from flawless, and I very much doubt Wigan or Leeds would go for it, but it's the best I can come up with.'"
Am I allowed to reply, Duane is trying to bully me off this board and Bob is counting my posts?

Some might think so, others not, however in my whole posting history I'd bet I've never used the word twonk to describe someone.
I'm that boring that I've managed to help a thread on here get to 7 pages in what is usually a graveyard, just ignore me if I'm that boring.

| I disagree with Dave K, but it's good to have your ideas challenged and see how others see you. And I like going on the Hull board, where they generally politely ignore me when I bore them, so if you don't want to debate with him, please do Dave the same courtesy.
Reet, off up the wooden hill to the land of dreams.

Dave, this is totally the wrong place for a Hull fan to seek love & affection, honestly.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Dave K. Has come on here and given an alternate view.
The posters; "His Bobness", " Duane Dibley"and the other one, "Des Lawson", knock him down, not for his views, but because he's a Hull fan.
I agree chaps that he has committed a heinous crime in his choice of club, but should we really be so insular to stymie all debate?

Dave i have read all your posts and at 1st i did believe you was digging at rovers for digging sake (derby week n all) but as you have gone on it seems a genuine concern or disappointment as teams can't just pull local lads from there academy, but as a fan of hull kr i would love nothing more than a team full of young hull lads but it's just not possible, against Leeds at weekend was the closest we have had i think 7 academy lads and 12 English players all together that must be our best super league era in this department, anyway I'm rambling on the point I'm making is do you not think your gripe is a problem with the game it's self and how it is run rather than having a problem with certain clubs? with the step up from 19s to 1st team being to big and not possible really look at us loaning Greenwood from Wigan he is 23 years old and not anywhere near there 1st team yet but they went out and loaned larne Patrick the game is on its knees in this area and clubs are doing all they can to make there 1st team as strong as possible

| Very rare that insults don't come into play on here, some people are to quick to want to jump in and spoil any chance of a thread ever getting into a decent debate, and it's usually the same posters too with there pathetic name calling.
I believe we had a prop in the most recent England U19's squad, doesn't mean he's ready for slut yet though so TP will hopefully come in and do a good job

| Quote: Dave K. "You have Cox and Green, so would only need 2 youth players short term ( how long are walker, tilse and Burke out for?), or even one if you signed Greenwood, who I have no problem with, as I can see the merits in his signing and the need for one loan player.
'"
The problem we have is that our U19 props just aren't big enough to cope with the rigours of SL, and it would need to be about 5 weeks worth of Sl at that. The merits of signing Greenwood may be obvious but maybe Wigan didn't want to sell?
I'm not sure about signing TP but we had a light pack at the start of the season, the subsequent Weyman and Bailey situations destroyed what size we had and we only really replaced Weyman with Tilse and we know how that went.
I really think that this position is pretty unprecedented, 5 props down from our anticipated season start position. Weyman, Bailey, Allgood, Walker, Burke, (Tilse not included as he replaced Weyman) and I doubt any club could have dealt with this through their youth system.

I'm pretty sure this is some sort of negative comment aimed towards me but unless you write it in a coherent sentence I have no idea what you mean.
