We all see bad decisions every weekend, most balance out some don't and this one never will. It was a bad decision and I think nearly everyone at Red Hall has said that, we need to change the way our officials are chosen, trained, supported and help improve the games image.

I have been with some RFU mates and they are laughing their heads off at the way our sport lurches from one crisis to the next. The sport is seen as amatuer and second rate by many and stunts like this go a long way in enforcing that stereotype.

Point being that forward passes will always be a part of the game
The Eden pass to Brown and the Crooks pass to Linehan could of been called forward on another day with another ref.
Ganson got no help from his TJ's last year after clearly looking at them before awarding the Dobson try.
But with the technology at his disposal for this year's controversy to get it wrong has cast a shadow on what was and is a showpiece event.
I'm fairly relaxed in fairness as I feared the worst with our entire left edge missing and thought we would get hammered.

Nail on head Ian.
Rivalry distorts the reality on the 2 Hull forums.
This is awful for the sport and had it happened in the Wigan v Leeds game a more serious debate would of ensued as it has on several of the other forums.

An error from a ref in real time is often accepted but the Ganson "mistake" should NEVER have even happened.
I really don't believe it was a mistake on his behalf, its impossible to explain tbh.

The RFU?

The difference is their sport doesn't hammer their officals, you see many mistakes that happen in union games, They just get on with it.

A few angry Rovers people about this weekend, Netherton has been at it with the Sandercock Twitter person, some pretty classy statements.

Quote: Bal "Hudgell and Sandercock having temper tantrums, blaming everybody else, surely not.

It's doing your club no favours, sorry to say. They should let it go. Plain and simple. Mistakes happen in sport, in someways it's all part of its entertainment.

Hull had a daft decision last year, you did this year. Hull played poorly, Hull KR failed to capitise. Hull woke up in the last 10, and drew level - fair and square. You hadn't done enough to actually win this game either way anyway. Last year we were robbed of 2 points, you got away with getting robbed of 1. Holsworth should have kicked the conversation all day along after Yeamans try, so you were fortunate to be even in that position.

If Hugell believes that an investigation into standards is going to yield any results he is in cloud cookoo land. The RFL know it wasn't good enough and have aplogised. They don't need an investigation to tell them its not good enough. Hugell I suspect knows this however, which means he is just trying to make a lot of noise to pacify the fans.'"

1-You didn't draw level fair and square at all. You were lucky with the Yeaman try as that could easily have been chalked off. We all know the last try should have been chalked off too. Admitted by the RFL.
2-Don't know how many times you need telling but fc were NOT robbed last year,as it didn't lose you the game,
Unfortunatly forward passes get missed every week, The fact is your players couldn't catch/tackle Hodgson and that cost you the game.
3-Hardly our problem if Holdsworth missed a conversion. icon_rolleyes.gif

Indeed.
I'm still at a loss as to how it is possible to make the mistake he is claiming he has made.
In fact scratch that it isn't possible to make the mistake he is claming he has made.

Were have the RFL admitted that the try by Yeaman was not legimete? There was absolutely nothing wrong with it.

You however did get away with a blatant forward pass (again) in the build up to Halls try.

Take the red and white blinkers off. You lost a game you should have drawn at best against a team that was playing the worst they have done in weeks.

I said it to those around me, Ganson has evened up his mistake from last year (Dobbo's try) when he awarded the Yeaman try; I was sat on that side of the pitch in-line with it and everyone in that section couldn't believe it when TRY came on the screen. A Saints fan said why didn't they use the overhead camera to confirm the grounding - my comment seemed to sum it up.

And then the Green try happens! Not one 'blatant' mistake. . .but TWO!

Whilst I don't support all of NHs Club Statement, I feel he is right to call on the RFL to explain the incident in full and inform everyone what they intend to do about it.

If only for the sake of our great game, the RFL & SLE need to be seen to be doing more than offering apologies - there is a World Cup on the horizon and we certainly don't want the possibility of this happening again.

Where are you getting 2 blatant mistakes from?

You cant compare Yeamans with Dobson try last year, that try was 100% forward and everyone said it should have been no try (like Chris Greens), Yeamans could have gone either way, all of the commentary team on Sky thought it was a try and most people I have spoken to thought it was a try.

There were a few 50/50's during the game that could have gone either way the only thing you have to complain about is Green's try which shouldn't have been given, like the previous year for us, the try probably cost you the game, but they is no way of knowing 100%.

Complete rubbish.

You cannot put last year's result down to a number of factors but this year's down to just one.

By your rationale in bold then your players failing to stop Whiting, Lineham and Yeaman contributed to your defeat.
