I suppose all the posts by FC fans on the FC site where the same 'intruders' who pulled the goal posts down are they.
I for one had these taunts directed at me from FC fans I know, some who are mates were saying the exact same, can I assume they have been masquerading as FC fans all these years and are really Cas, Wakey and leeds fans.

I don't care what some of your mates might have been doing to wind you up. Not a terribly difficult task judging by your posts on here.
The posts on RLFans banging on about 8 easy points were mainly from fans of other SL clubs complaining about the 'unfair advantage' it gave us. Simple fact. The vast majority of FC fans understood that derbies are simply not predictable that way.
Having said that, if Cooke hadn't jumped ship who knows what may have happened...

| Can I just ask if Rovers fans would be happy to have Allam involved with their club?

What I do want to see is Hudgell and everyone connected with rovers pay for their arrogance, especially towards us (Cooke etc) when you first joined sl. Now what's wrong with that? Sadly I believe you will come out of this unscathed.[/quo
I'm amazed by gods gift to super league fans. was it not you the lorded over us for 20 years how superior you was, how you was the big I am! how you could beat every team with your little finger, and you have the cheek to call us arrogant!. how week after week you rubbed our noses in it.
go back to your board and for all mankind stay there and fester

| After a period of rapid progress then a couple of years of treading water, it is time to take stock.
Let's discuss that.
The reciprocal accusations of arrogance, whether intended as banter or not, have been done plenty and we can go over it all many times in the future, on other threads. I'm not averse on occasion.

Well, it's a difficult one. I don't pay enough attention to Hull to fully understand why you all mistrust him so much apart from his fanciful Melton ideas.
The "soft loan"/"gift" doesn't appear to have been a major issue but without having detailed insider knowledge of thos meetings and the ramifications behind them it's impossible to judge.
He doesn't appear to have made such a bad job of running his own business all these years.
I suppose the real question is at what threat of a merger would we be? Let's be honest, a merger would mean Rovers being consumed by Hull, but whilst Pearson is at Hull there's absolutely nothing that I can see in it for him in geting into bed with Allam. The only way I can see that scenario panning out would be for Allam to buy Rovers and then for Pearson to sell Hull to Allam when he feels he's taken that business as far as he can.
Is Allam that well off? And perhaps more tellingly, why would a multi millionaire business person sink a huge chunk of his money that he's spent a lifetime buliding up into a sport that hardly anyone has ever made any money at?
Unless he's completely mental, that would explain it.
I really don't think I could have shoe horned more conjecture and speculation into that post. Go me!

Yes, why not!
I think his son will be the front man.

| Reet - likely outcomes of 'crunch talks'. Not like they won't have chatted about it informally, of course.
Can't see the Allam's riding in to save the day - they've surely got plenty on their plate with Hull City.
On the other hand, I doubt we're on the verge of going pop, though as long as you're dependent on benefactors, by definition your fortunes depend on their's.
SL has two structurally big clubs - Wigan and Leeds. With Eamon 'To Big to Fail' McManus (I'm still in a grump about lie-censing) Saints have bridged the gap. After that, it's possible to get there, but it needs big investment year after year. We can hope for that, but while we're waiting let's preserve and enjoy the progress that has been made.
Unless they're planning emergency swingeing cuts to the squad, as it stands the team for next year looks pretty good. Bit thin on experience perhaps, but hardly cutting to the bone.
It'll be interesting to see their plans. Since the huge success of get up-stay up-consolidate-compete, they've had a bit of the 'difficult second album syndrome'. They tried to go big with the Mason signing, but with the benefit of hindsight, I now want to see a more gradualist approach. Or Allam on a massive spending spree - either is good.
