I think that's best.
For the record, I am looking forward to seeing Ellis play in the derby, now that kid is a class act, best signing by any SL club so far for next season.

| Robbie Farrah claimed Ellis to be West Tigers best ever signing, which is a big claim (as in the same side as Benji Marshall) But Joey Johns made a good point that Ellis could play SP one handed but as he hasn't made too many appearances I'm unsure he can keep fit for Hull next year (could be a big gamble)
Back to the mighty rovers, Burns is a good signing, and is a winner. Some might say over enthuisiastic or over aggressive but I think it's what rovers need. Not seen a lot of Patterson (not getting much game time) but he is a huge unit and like Burns can play a number of positions.
Although rovers can't compete with the spending of Wire, Wigan and even Hull. I'm excited for next season. I believe that as the squad lacks the depth of other teams, Sandercock is creating a team if players that can okay a number of positions, I also feel the players we have are and will further develop.

How many times have you seen Sheriff, Paterson, McDingle and Galea play?
McDingle is by far the worst full back I have seen in SL, he is poo!!'"
he is one of the best full backs in s/l, no doubt about it. you obviously was watching this mcdingle fella and not mcdonnell!!
what is it with rl fans obsessions with changing peoples names its poor poor banter - mcdingle, mcbanana, dobbins, shuddersfield, grudgel, etc etc etc its terrible!

| With ball in hand sharon macdongle wasnt that bad but imo terrible with positioning and tackling. But i dont think CS has done bad with any of his signings. If so can someone tell me which player he signed was crap!!! Ive defo got a buzz about travis(and gleeson, paterson, and tui) cos we have lacked aggression for a number of years. With the kids this year in the side we have pushed some good sides close and imo if latus hodgeson and macdongle could tackle because lets be honest they have let the most tries in, then we would of beaten these teams. So on that note i think next season will be a good one.

| Quote: Legends and Icons "Ive seen galea play a lot of times and tbh , not seen much of the others just like yourself
Mcdonell was fine untill he didnt want to play for you anymore and now he's rubbish , liam watts was the best thing since sliced bread not so long back untill he leaves and then he's a trouble making penalty machine ., blake green player of the year last season leaving for wigan so now travis burns is beter.. Im seeing a pattern emerging here !!! Scott Taylor will be rubbish soon when he joins another team ?
You will struggle to be higher than 8th next season imho'"
1. McDonnell was rubbish when he arrived and was rubbish for his 1st 6-8 games. He then began to improve (about Easter, which rumour has it was the time he "agreed" a contract to defect East to West), only to become gash again about July time when he basically couldn't be d. He then got injured, which was a blessing as it forced the coach to blood Sheriff, a move which IMO will pay long term dividends for the club. You are more than welcome to him, and you will soon discover he can offer much with ball in hand (including his party piece of running all along the back line before being bundled into touch on 1st tackle), and will miss approx 50% of his 1-on-1 tackles. Bargain for 120K pa.
2. Watts didn't become a trouble making penalty machine when he left, he left because he was a trouble making penalty machine. Cause & effect son.
3. Blake Green was outstanding in 2011, Player of the Year no less. After his blood clot he hasn't been the same player. Not his fault, I'd agree, but his input has severely reduced and for the cash we were paying him (a very large bag of peanuts, if you will), he no longer represented value for money. The best club in the land want him, and are willing to pay 130K for him. No brainer, he leaves with the best wishes of most Rovers fans.
4. Scott Taylor is a potentially great player. He needs to knuckle down somewhere and turn that into consistent performances, then he can believe everything his agent tells him. Good luck to the lad. He would be foolish to turn Wigan or Leeds down where he could win silverware.
8th? I'd take it now, year-on-year improvement and all that.

Well that's easy, as he only signed 2 that we have seen play. McDonnell, see above for my assessment, and Mika who can go from the sublime to the ridiculous in the same set of 6.

| Just a quick one on Sheriff.
Is his name pronounced Lewis or Louis as in Louis IV?

Lewis I think.
Confusing though, because an acquaintance of mine has a toddler and he's called Louis, prounounced 'louie'.

He is doing well. Good kicking game and good defensively. Very strong and aggressive for his size which will stand him in good stead for the step up. Sometimes makes wrong decisions but show me an 18 year old that doesnt. Could do with calming his temperament slightly but sometimes theres nothing wrong with a bit of youthful exhuberance!
A good off-season and i reckon he will be ready next year if he is needed to cover for Dobson.
