He should move to Wetwang.

I've had them, made a terrible mess of me undercrackers, had to get a farmer to shave 'em off with his sheep shears.
Lynn's must be like boulders if there dragging him down.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "A bit odd that there's confidence Sandercock can improve Lyne. Gentle's not developed him, fair enough, but we have seen improvements in some players - Turner and Sharp for example. Bowden and Crooks have broken through. Houghton remains an England Knights pick and is a very effective hooker for us. On Sandercock's side, Taylor's stepped up, Hall has delivered the same mixed bag of the last umpteen years and your two closest prospects for international selection, Welham and Watts, have stepped back and stalled respectively. Are Sandercock and Chester so superior in developing players to Gentle and Hay that it's a given that all young players will come on leaps and bounds under them? Not convinced the evidence is unequivocal at this point tbh, but could well prove to be so.'"
Players who have improved under Sandercock:
1. Josh Hodgson
(huge gap)
2. Scott Taylor
3. Craig Hall
4. Liam Salter
5. Clinton (although its a marginal improvement!)
Players who appear to have gone backwards:
1. Liam Watts
That's about it. Welham is just the same, although it looks like he missed more tackles, that's likely to Galea missing a chunk of the season (he defends next to him and does the donkey work).
I don't get this Sandercock v Gentle rubbish. As things stand (and this is purely my opinion), Gentle is showing that he has more experience and the step up the Head Coach has been easier for him to make. That's not to say Sandercock won't make it, I just think he's starting further back on the grid. It's not for me to judge your coach. I will judge ours on next years performances, unlike the knee jerk brigade.
I'm just glad he's presently not slagging refs or pointing out the opposition internationals. This could change back after back-to-back defeats!

It's easy to improve when you've set your performance benchmark as low as Clinton has set his since he's been here.

The best example to use for Sandercock's proven development skills is Akila Uate.
Confidence shot a few years back and was not showing the promise that people knew he had, spends a bit of time under one on one tuition from Sandercock and comes back better than ever, eventually cementing his place in the NSW and Australia sides.
He has thanked Sandercock on numerous occasions for helping develop him into the player that he is.
Lyne is probably in a similar situation to Uate's, albeit without the same level of potential.

| Sorry, forgot my disclaimer, I do not actually believe though, that Lyne will ever make it in Super League no matter who coaches him.
I also don't want us to offer him a deal.

The most convenient and/or selective, you mean.
When a player is linked with Rovers, the typical reaction, as you intimate here (Pre disclaimer, well done ), if the player is an underwhelming prospect, is to prefix it with "with decent coaching, he could be good", the implication being that Sandercock has magical powers unpossessed by others.
Lists posted so far to support the elfin one's mystical staus appear a little selective IMO. Take Graeme Horne. Had an impressive season last year under Nathan Brown. Is he at the top of his game currently? Maybe he is, not entirely sure though. Scott Murrell - played some magnificent games under Morgan. Is this his career-best form? Watts, we've done. Wheeldon - Grand Finalist at Hull. Went south thereafter. Welham - plenty of bleating on here last year about Yeaman getting the England nod ahead of him, all gone a bit quiet on that front.. We all like to be optimistic about our coaching staff's abilities, but just posting stuff about Uate (yawn) and picking out players who have improved is a tad biased.

Well no I meant because he is most similar to Lyne in both position and deficiencies.
