Like i've said above, i'll meet with anyone to discuss incedents from yesterday.

I was stood with my family, ((inc wife, daughter. father, uncle and niece.) and not with a group of beer fuelled hooligans after trouble.

For 65mins all is well until some MORON decides it's a laugh to throw a HOT pie at peoples heads.

How ironic no one has seen the person throwing missiles ( yet again). Rovers had around 1500 to 2000 fans in that stand and someone knows who theese PILLOCKS are.

I've already stated my actions where out of order but are theese PHANTOM throwers going to be big enough to put their hands up and appolgise (or friends of theese name and shame them??????).

I dont think so.

In hindsight Jay your %100 right.
This has happened on several occasions now and yesterday it was the last straw.
Once again a good day out has been ruined for FAR to many people and a part of that is down to me.
Hope we can put this incedent behind us and ALL involved GROW UP and lets start to support our team together.....

The use of the term 'you' implies us all, I can assure you that I was not fighting with anyone and neither were the majority. Perhaps 'you' (singular) should think before you post.

We've had Humberside Police at away games in the past, pulling people out of queues. Maybe this should happen again.

As is regularly documented, I sent a strongly worded email to Hopeless Smith last year after Leeds away. There were absolutely legless Rovers fans getting ejected and fighting with stewards as I arrived and then more ed up idiots got chucked out for trying to sneak into the North stand and causing trouble in there.

I firstly got a reply from his PA and then one from him saying they would investigate. Never heard anything again and the whole thing must have got swept under the carpet.

Leeds is CCTV'd up to the eyeballs, these people would be easily identifiable.

All we ever get is the standard response of "Not our responsibility to control people in other clubs grounds" whilst technically that is correct, I do think the club has an overriding responsibility to work with other clubs and share information to weed these vermin out.

All modern stadia have CCTV, I'd be very very surprised if a representative form Rovers couldn't identify the pie thrower.

Andy was clearly out of order, but he has at least admitted this. I can categorically say that I wouldn't have reacted in that way because I'm a massive fanny.

Andy did you get chucked out then? And im sorry but you cant say falcon bus is innocent in this - yes ok you were prevoked; but at least point the finger at the right people, like you said its happened afew seasons now and your friends pointed the finger at the wrong people and look what happened at cas because of it.

Im sure if i was asked to look at cctv i could name the person who had thrown a pie (hopefully) and it could be dealt with; but lets be honest i wont be asked because it wasnt at our ground and will be swept under the carpet- however i will be sending kr an email to say any help needed and i would come along.

Also i would gladly meet you andy so you know my face to say hi too rather then throw a fist in the wrong direction and i would also gladly point out if i saw/see anyone throwing things at you again.

There is a world of difference between an idiot getting hammered and looking for trouble and someone losing it it the idiot. If I (or my wife, grandkids who I go with) got a hot pie in the head, I can assure you the thrower would sober up pretty quick.

So what, you'd knock 10 bells out of him/her? What about his/her mates? Them too?
Whilst, this is an understandable reaction, it's also part of the big problem. You can't solve the underlining issue through personal retribution. These types of supporters will seek safety in numbers and all what's going to happen is that a big ruck kicks off and brings shame to the name of Hull KR and its supporters. As in yesterday's outcome.

Sadly it's gonna' have to come from the club if it's to sort this problem out. Something I don't really see happening personally. Maybe a fans liaison officer type mingling with supporters @ away games would be a first step to working towards a positive solution for everyone.

Lobbing of beer/food is also happening all too frequently @ some of our away games too. This wouldn't be tolerated @ football, so there's no way this should be tolerated @ rugby. Misbehave @ soccer and you're looking @ 3 yr banning order/court appearance/fines etc. The deterrent for football is massive, at rugby it's nothing. I'm not advocating the introduction of overzealous crowd control that football has, but somewhere there needs to be a message that bad behaviour isn't just brushed under the carpet. Needs stronger leadership from the authorities to tackle this and again that's something I don't see happening any time soon.

Quote: barham red "Bloody idiots, everyaway match is a peeupathon for the same people. In mitigation i did think the rentathug stewards were spoiling for a fight and when they saw someone (vrr) with no top on they waded in. watched them point him out andgleefully pile in, since when has waving a shirt around been an offence, very intimidating set of stewards.

huge police presence outside seemed very ott as well.

just to clarify i'm no apologists for the peeheads who are spoiling my away trips but i did feel a bit o
f empathy for those being intimidated.'"

Firstly the "stewards" who were spoiling for a fight are actually from a security firm which Warrington use and are there to basically sort out any incidences of agro or to handle people needing to be kicked out. Its not suprising that they seemed to be ready to wade in. Thats their job. They are only called on to handle incidents where the time has come that it appears that wading in is whats required.

Secondly, as far as the HUGE police presence is concerned, personally I dont think half a dozen pandas (there's usually a couple hanging around anyway) and a couple of vans is excessive when a) the police would have been advised of trouble in the ground b) there were reports of at least one fan being hurt in said trouble and c) there have been incidences of trouble in the past involving A MINORITY from both humberside teams.

The VAST majority of Warrington fans would join with the VAST majority of KR fans in agreeing that incidents like these have no place inside a rugby ground. Andy, respect you for admitting your involvement but as you acknowledge to your own credit the (over)reaction ddint help. People will call stewards but from experience the stewards at Warrington WILL take action against fans being disrespectful to others if its brought to their attention (even calling in the heavy mob mentioned above IF REQUIRED). I'm also sure that both clubs and constabularies would certainly welcome input from any fan wishing to provide assistance. The biggest problem they have though is a lack of people coming forward who REALLY do want to get involved. If anybody is genuingly willing to, hats of to you and feel free to contact the people in charge.

We moved out of the East Stand to get away from being covered in beer and having to put up with vile & aggressive behaviour. If I'd taken Andy's route I'd have hit several 'women', I'll use the term loosely.

The crowd that was around me, I've seen at most away games and alot of the time they're alright if not a big paralytic. Thy were naughty at Leeds, though.

The worst away coach has a kid on it who looks like Jesus, that pulled up at Ferrybridge and a large contingent of its inhabitants used the front wall as a urinal, the Jesus lad was scuffling with stewards at Wire last year after they asked him to put a joint out, yes, really.

I know I'm interupting here as I'm from Wakefield and its not my business really but I don't want to see violence at Rugby Grounds anywhere so have an interest from that point of view.

I've been in a similar situation to Andy and felt obliged to defend my wife and father when some idiots were starting trouble. It was a Cas Wakefield game and it was a Wakefield fan causing the trouble. It was simply a matter of too much beer, nothing else.
He wouldn't have been brave enough any other time, but the problem is, as Andy found, that the stewards aren't really offering protection. When things have happened near me, I have rarely seen the stewards taking control. You either have to take it and stand there, take it and move away or not take it and confront them yourself, which makes it worse.

So actually, although there were a few comments of too many stewards and police, I'm all for it if it keeps people safe and they don't have to step in themselves.....and on top of that, there needs to be an initiative from the club to find out who the people were. Its easy to be brave when you think you are invisible. Name and shame.

There was an incident a few years ago when Warrington were at Wakefield and some fans threw cansa t the touch judge who made a decision against us. The club went to great lengths to find out who they were and they got rid of them.
