I thought the quote was "we have had a conversation with him" or something along those lines.
Which suggests we are looking at him for 2011 - i agree it maybe about bums on seats but unless hes going to come in and knock people on there bums then i dont want him.
Would rather see Feka if thats the case.

I agree Feka would be a better option but imho the days of the 10 minute impact prop are numbered. Speaking to a SL coach last week he told me that the interchange rules are changing from 12 to 10 next season. That could radically change the way props especially are rotated.

Which is why Lovegrove played a full half maybe.....
But we still lack someone with grunt, doesnt need too be massive but needs to take on the line and get out of tackles (Peacock, Graham, Omeley). Most teams have at least one or two - apart from moulding Watts into that player i cant see who else can do it, unless we bring someone in.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

He would definitely have to improve his fitness, especially when working the 10 in defence because we all know how devastating he can be running the ball. Does anyone remember the try he scored at CP last year when he took the first drive after a penalty close to our line and he must have run through at least 6 defenders, probably more.

| Anyway, before I have to go see GML in his office again, back on topic.
Mason-No thanks, would only be coming for a holiday, would fall out with Morgan every week, be a disruptive influence and is an utter raasclart.
Fielden-Yes, has had a very good season at Wigan, but the noises seem to be that he'll almost certainly stay at The Piedome.
Paeliasina-Another no, can't play for long enough as a fatty and has been like Samson with a short back and sides since he slimmed down.
A top six is obviously a priority but after that I'd like to see us go for a barn storming South Sea Island type to play in the back row, someone with a bit of power and guile. Move Galea back to loose forward to give him as much free reign as possible.
Interesting stuff about the interchange Mr. Gekko I think that could have avery positive effect on the game.

There are very few props in world rugby who break the line.
I'd sooner have props who are good on technique, body position and quick ptb's than anything else. Having a prop like Watts who had a great pre-line pass and offload will offer better options for longer periods than an out and out impact prop. One of the reasons the likes of Peacok and Graham go through the line so often is they have players pushing with them offering options. Rovers props tend to go it alone and whilst they generally make good ground they often get dominated as the defence can get numbers into the tackle resulting in a slow ptb.
For me all this 'lacking grunt' is a false argument as there are better ways of attempting to be dominant up front than having a couple of big guys in the side for 10 mins or so.
Only my opinion mind

Think that was also a very good defensive spot by Wigan as he targetted Scott Murrell and Lovegrove iirc.

So you are looking for a prop to break tackles? There is only one prop in the SL top 20 tackle busters this season (he's 7th with 66). For more details see here, with comparison also to the MOS electhttp://www.superleague.co.uk/statistics_player.php?hs1

So Stuart Fielden has broken 54 more tackles than Joel Clinton but with Joel having made 2 appearances less and 66 less carrys he's only made 297 less metres than fielden. Imagine what he'd do if he broke tackles
