Like some did with the aggregate scores in our first season, only to have them disappear when we smashed them all over the KC

| Hull KR have 3 choices IMO:
1. Say the punishment set by the court is sufficient and he should not be punished twice for the same crime.
2. Suspend him for a period to show their thorough diapproval.
3. Sack him.
The last seems unlikely - he has been in the 17 regularly, while the case has been ongoing. There is no real risk to the club in keeping him, as if he makes another mistake he'll be a guest of Her Majesty and we can try to find a replacement then - swapping the certainty of a problem now for the possibility of one down the road isn't a risk.
There are ethical arguments for and against a suspension. The rugby arguments (you have to be realistic about these things) are mostly against - especially going into the hectic Easter period with one 3/4 already out for 3 months. He's lucky not to be going to prison and maybe lucky he's not a prop.

Agree with what you're saying but I reckon he'll just be fined.

Possibly, but it would look bad IMO, because you (HKR) are saying he needs to be punished again in a way that just happens to benefit the club on the pitch and in the bank. Donating the cash to charity might mitigate it a bit, especially if the suggestion 'comes from' the new and reformed BC.
Maybe I should have been a spin doctor

It's what most sports clubs do
I know it's a bit different but look at ashley cole the other week
He got an £80 fine by the police and chelsea then fined him 2 weeks wages
Agree that it should go to charity the club shouldn't gain from his actions

Agree with these comments plus although sledging during games is fairly frequent with all teams at some point I`m sure there will be some players trying that bit extra to wind him up now
Hope he serves his CS well and makes a real difference to those less fortunate doing whatever work he has to and continues his very impressive form on the pitch

In a way I think they need to make an example of Cockayne (and Pryce and Reardon when their sentences are known) even if just suspending them for a set period of time simply to send the message to other players that this behaviour isn't condoned and also to reiterate the "family sport" idea of the game and make fans aware that they don't take off the pitch misdemeanour's lightly.

| Based on the evidence placed before the court, I believe it to be a farce that this young THUG has not been sent to jail.
What he did is disgusting and shocking, he displayed all the traits of a COWARD. A one to one fight is one thing but kicking someone about the head repeatedly whilst on the floor...CONTEMPTIBLE. Had this guy died from this beating Cockayne et al would be facing a murder charge.
All in all...a CONTEMPTIBLE, COWARDLY THUG
Come on Hull K R, we don't need his sort at the club.
