| We've got feck all chance here.
As my incredibly boring friend who resembles Heinrich Himmler noted, "Operation Certain Loss".
Luckily I get to go to Arcadia afore times and see my old Leeds muckers.
The game will pan out as thus; spirited Rovers performance, entertaining game and close until about fifteen minutes from time when McGuire scores his traditional brace, unless I see him Rothwell Morrison's tomorrow and an unfortunate trolley incident befalves him...

Goose, I am gobsmacked by the news that you have an incredibly boring friend. Unless that bell end Ian Milward is who you mean!

| Rovers by 8 points, more of a hope than expectation but our back line & halfs are as good as anyone in this league, they have nothing to loose as no one gives them a chance, Just depends how our pack plays? Just as long as it is not another display like the Wigan away league game I will be happy.

| That 19 from Leeds is a bit good isn't it.
Our backs, which are our big strength, are beaten in every position apart from stand off and their pack is light years ahead of the one that Rovers are going to be sending out.
With all that considered then I can't see past a convincing Rovers win.

| Well, I thought we gave it go tonight.
Leeds were always in control for me, but at times we looked like we could pull off a shock.
Effort and commitment was there and we clearly came with a game plan due to our lack of forwards that nearly worked.
We lost but were still a pleasure to watch.
I really think Ollett looks a player that could develop, Holker did himself proud and Esselmont didn't look out of place. Not an easy place to go Headingley, and they did OK.
More plaudits to Boudebza who again played big minutes and defended very well, his tackle technique is perfect for a man of his size.
The young Wigan lad Greenwood stood up.
We played some smart training ground combinations at times tonight that the players seem to know really well, we look off the cuff, but we're not, these are practised moves that Chester must be implementing and although Campese had a quiet game, they all went through him.
My criticism would be that Blair wasn't as involved as he should have been and Cox needed to step up but looks unfit and gassed after ten minutes.
Campese's kicking from ball in hand was not good and we had no second option with Cockayne kicking on the fifth at least twice which is not a good idea.

| Was sat next to Gene at Hull last night, he was talking to a friend, he mentioned than he was trying to sign Sonny as he had been told he would be released by Rovers at the end if the year, I'm guessing that is Esslemont.

| That's a fair synopsis of the game and our gutsy and committed performance Goose.
My wife and I went with our friends and close neighbours who are all Rhinos fans. So we were 2 red shirts in a sea of blue and yellow in The Carnegie Stand and I was making more noise in that first half on my own than the entire rest of the stand. The Leeds fans were shocked but also impressed at how easy we were putting points on them on the flanks. For a 15000 crowd, the game had half the atmosphere of the average Rovers home game.
Second half, different story. Leeds tightened up and along came you know who. What a difference Rob Burrow made to Leeds. The final result didn't reflect our overall parity. 3 soft tries conceded and 4 conversions missed and 50 minutes without the impressive Ken Sio. We need extra runners to support forward breaks.
I was impressed with Boudebza again and young Holker looked full of energy and urgency. Greenwood looks a reasonable acquisition. McCarthy looked tired and Larroyer ineffective.
Overall though, we are a good team to watch this year, but we will need some of our injured players back soon or else we will keep losing (mostly narrowly).

Our best 17 will match anyone, but our overall squad strength is bottom 4 in my opinion, if we stay fit we can be in a good position, but with the quality of players out injured and the cover on offer being too 'light' we will be bottom 4 if we don't get players back soon. When I looked at our pack at the start of the season and saw Weyman, Allgood etc, I thought we could give it a real good go with the backs we have, but how quickly things alter. We need another prop if we can get one.

I agree about best 17 & the need for a big prop but I dont think we will be bottom 4 ( that confident£10 to your chosen charity if we don't make the top 8 ) We won't win the comp but we will have a big say in who gets into the play offs.

Were these the moves when you send dummy runners diagonally inwards taking out opposition defenders then moving the ball round the back and running through the gaps? I thought rovers did well considering the injuries the had and made Leeds fight for the win. Unfortunately you came with the same tactic that most teams come to Headingley with and the man with the yellow shirt allowed you to play it all night, it's was a frustrating night for Leeds but I felt the game was always in the bag and Leeds dominated in for long parts. Not sour grapes but I thought the referee put in one of the most inconstant performances I have seen for many a year, he was simply out of his depth and incompetent. At times he was simply embarrassing, with a half decent ref on the park I feel it could have been a blow out score, but congratulations on keeping in touch for most of the game you never gave up when others would have.

Something leeds will need to get used to. You won't get things your own way once Sinfield retires from reffing.
