| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"It is interesting, the reality of running a RL club and provides context for fans complaining about administrative issues and lack of marketing etc.
If I have read correctly, it says the team is delivering the same-ish as Morgan [uon a much less resources, but Rovers are only £100k off the cap according to Hudgell?[/u The other thing that's [ustill not clear is what the £750,000 the stand delay of 6 months has cost is[/u. If it was sponsorship of the stand, £750k cash down up front seems an unbelievable amount. A catering deal was referenced at one point I think. Just seems astronomical in the context of a mid table SL club.
Good to hear investors coming forward though.'"
On the SC point you picked up on Mrs B, there does seem to be conflicting and contradictory messages. I have to say I cannot see the current squad touching the figure NH stated. I was told, in the heat of the moment, NH included transfer fees and other related costs but who knows, when NH goes off on one of his tantrums he is certainly prone to making head scratching comments.
On the second point, the £750k losses we keep hearing about, it is partly loss of sponsorship (for this season) and the rest is lost revenues re gate receipts and hospitality. The major loss will be the derby match.

| WHY would anybody buy a club that owes it owners about £2.5 million ( to be repaid obv) and loses £450,000pa ? If lifelong fans and businessmen like Crossland can't rescue it then WHO can ?

I doubt that debt will be repaid - almost certainly not in full, anyway.
As to reasons - hope of sporting glory, innit? See also McManus, Davy, Koukash and any number of rich blokes in football and RU.
Figures for 2011 show Saracens lost £5.6m and at least 5 RU premiership clubs lost more than £1.5m. We only seem unusually basket case-ish because it was a handy stick for you to beat us with when you were reporting profits and we were winning most of the derbies and finishing above you. 'You' just started to believe your own trolling. Our weakness is the weakness of the sport as a whole, and indeed pro sport in general. Our strength is a dream of glory, and if we secure 'investment' it isn't implausible. We don't offer the prospect of profits, but we could offer the chance of silverware and excitement and kudos.

Was MS being dishonest as well when he confirmed it?

It'd take a fair bit of spending, but why not? Rhetorical question.
We actually have a decent foundation to build from in relative terms.

| If Rovers are in the mire then there will be a lot more clubs in a bad way,If the 10K crowds that Hudgel said we need to break even for us is corect & a fair few other clubs will be gone as well then who will the big boys play? We need the derby match & I expect that our freinds accross the city use the extra funds it brings to pay a few staff. I would be very interested to find out how Leeds always make a profit (now they dont get money from the cricket) as it would be the model for our clubs.

Even though their crowds are down a bit, like most others, they still often get over 15k to games. Plus they possibly own their stadium, iirc (which I might not). Only one team can win SL each year, which helps them and can clearly only be potentially emulated by one club at a time.
