| I think kicks that make the wakey back 3 have to think are the best option as thats when fox and cockayne tend to make mistakes, when they have time to think about it. Charlie is suspect under the high ball as I don't think I will forget his attempt to take a high ball on our 20 facing our own line and messing it up by kicking it out for a drop out. I think the kick that will bring us the most success is the grubber behind fox when we are in the wakey 20 area as fox is not the quickest at turning and retreating.

Charlie played for us for 5 years and you can remember one occasion that he struggled with an high ball? I suppose all we've got to do then is kick 5 years worth of high bombs at him and he'll mess one up.
Ben was always competent at full back and in my memory I can only remember a few occasions he's let us down, he made up for his misakes in most games so I never went home blaming him if we'd lost. Wakey have a good player in Ben, he'll go well for them.
People are also writing off Foxy based on one season, I didn't want Foxy to leave, he'll probably be back to his best again.

| I agree with you dum dum, I would still love both of them players to be at rovers, Charlie's effort even if he made a mistake can never be questioned, and foxy like u say had one bad season. However I do think on the early sets a few bombs should be put up just to test the water as, especially if foxy cocks one up his confidence tends to take a hit. I'm already here in wakey, well normanton and the weather is fairly mild, no ice or frost on the cars this morning, so hopefully game on!

| The best option is worry about keeping the ball in Rovers hands & let Wakey worry about what our back line is doing.

Haha, Fair play mate, you knocking the pub landlords up?
Foxy started last week with a couple of mistakes but got on the score sheet a couple of times.

Well you've got a seriously different memory to me as I remember him making numerous cock ups at full back in 2007. It got to the point (although this wasn't always Cockayne) where I dreaded us scoring because we'd inevetably mess up the first set from the kick off. Why do you think we signed Briscoe?
Cockayne was an enthusiastic yet limited player with particularly idiotic ideas on most apects of life that he felt he had to publicise in order to demonstrate his own special level of moron at every avilable opportunity.

We signed Briscoe for the sole reason of getting at FC, didn't we?

Yep, the member of the skein responsible for finding a decent boozer looks to have come up trumps, looking forward to it, I don't think it'll be a partucularly high quality game but I do think it'll be entertaining and both sets of fans seem intent on mking it a good atmosphere.

i liked charlie for the effort he showed but a lot of people confuse effort for ability he looked a great full back in NL but out of his depth in SL he lasted in SL because of his effort and the fact he could cover a number of positions

| What we need to do is play down the middle. Wakefields forwards are not anywhere near as big as ours, For big guys ours are pretty mobile.l. Let Paea, Mika and Clinton bash them up down the middle. Tire Wakefield into submission with wave after wave of big drives and then get the ball out wide on the 4th and 5th. We looked very good and full of idea close to Leeds line and for me Wakefield won't be as defensively strong and have as much possession as Leeds did.
Certainly looking forward to a hard fought game.

| Quote: bishops finger "one thing Wakey will have this year is good kick return. not many better than Fox and Cockayne IMO'"
Absolutely spot on - it's been noticeable even after only two games played in anger that our kick return is significantly improved; Fox in particular drives it in hard and straight and doesn't submit to the tackle like some wingers do, and Cockayne is always a lively runner. Thought they both did well today, apart from Foxy's brainfart on the drop-out, which proved to be a pretty significant mistake.

I used it as an example and can remember others. I remember the east stand having to shout for him to face his own sticks as he attempted a catch. He was a good national league full back hence why we got briscoe. He was a whole heatred player and fully committed but had his flaws. He will go well for them as will fox and although I was the same as you in that I did not want hime to leave, I feel that it was the best for us and him and his downfall in my opinion was switching to the right away from welham who had formed a good partnership.
Last year he looked like he did not enjoy his rugby or be bothered. One example would be against huddersfield giant away when I think cudjoe scored from a grix return of our kick and scott murrell over took fox chasing back to attempt to stop the try. That to me seemed to show his future was elsewhere.
