That's right just the same. Our chairman has been talking down our club all season, crying out for more investment, and talking about Hull KR at every opportunity. Every one of our fans has been shouting from the rooftops about how we should be world club champions.

I didn't mean in that sense, I meant in regards to you lot claiming you'll be world champions at the beginning of the season. Then 10 games in its 'oh we're rubbish, to many average players'. Then go on a run picking up a few lucky wins and you lot are better then Wigan all over again.

And then after this weekend your opinions are that you are once again average after getting beat at Cas. Do make your minds up.

Tbf, that binary only ever amazing or atrocious thing is something that all 'passionate' fans do - us too. Sometimes it is a bit ott, but it is what keeps us coming back.
For example:
Play poorly and win narrowly - that is what the best teams do, what great composure.
Play poorly and lose narrowly - we're complete rubbish and didn't deserve anything, we've got a fundamental attitude problem.

TBF to FC fans I do think the media perpetuate the myth that they are Grand Final contenders, Eddie was waxing lyrical about them having one eye on old trafford before the cas game.

After watching last nights game I think we all have a hell of a lot to do to even get close to that level of performance.

I've just been thinking about the stereotypes, off the back of the locked 'we're humble, they're arrogant' thread, their supposed delusions of grandeur, our supposed small-minded bitterness, and how it is reinforced through the adversarial points-scoring bickering. Or how it arises from the in-club self-evident truths - that are never challenged (though they can be mutable!).
Quite an artifice to maintain, really.

As usual a good frank and honest interveiw with neil hudgell on rovers.tv ,im guessing paterson will be returning back home but neil seems very positive on the future of our club.

Absolutely bang on the money!!! The reason I was disappointed with Hudgells comments is because his issue is with Paea's agent. If Hull had already signed Paea, its up to them how and when they announce it. What was Gentle meant to say? All clubs will announce players as and when they feel it will help them most as regards season ticket sales, releasing fan pressure etc.

As an FC fan I was pretty shocked by Paea's agents comments. They were cutting, especially about a player that before rovers, had been a bit part NRL prop, not box office. Rovers deserved far far better than that.

As regards Hudge, what he's done for Rovers has been extraordinary, and if he went i'd miss him. He's part of what makes the rivalry between these two clubs what it is, and part of the reason I love this game. Local guy done good, putting something back. Sandercock will come good, Hull will progress, both clubs will be knocking on the door of the top four in the next couple of years.
