| Looks a decent coach, the only thing that worries me is that we may only sign 1 more player on top of those already signed,is this bloke a miracle worker because he will have to be if we only sign 1 more player.

| Quote: roopy "Another article from this morning's Newcastle Herald.
Basically says the Knights wish him well, but think he was ideal for the role of overseeing the coaching staff of our junior squads and will be hard to replace - also a bit about Andrew Dunneman still looking for a job.
Thanks for that Roopy. It helps put to bed the rumour circulating that the Knights didn't want him. Even the BBC have reported that he wasn't offered a job under Wayne Bennett. Clearly that wasn't the case.
This is a bit of a gamble by Rovers, given his relative experience, however I really hope this bold appointment is as succesful as our last coaching gamble.

Maguire and Brown had a decent pack of forwards to start with though,we haven't,not many of our forwards would get in a top team,i'm all for a new coach(been saying it for a season and half)but you have got to give him something to work with.

Nathan Brown had been the Head Coach at St George, how's that "unknown"?

Trent was with Morgs at Toulouse before going back to Oz. He was assistant at Sydney Roosters before getting the Catalan gig.

| Ginge, do you still think it was all a "done deal" before the board went to Oz?

No I don't now am surprised at the signing but rovers have obviously done they're homework and I believe in them so I'm happy with the signing I just hope Craig don't get a bit "cocky" can't be avin that. I like that's he's watching every DVD of last season poor bloke I'd be sleeping on a flight

Good call.
It would appear that the boaard may have had a favourite prior to their departure, but you have to trust their judgement. It does appear to have been a pretty rigourous selection process and they should be applauded for this, rather than just take the 1st bloke pushed under their noses by a pushy agent. However, I still think their is an element of risk in any appointment, you just never know.
Welcome to East Hull Craig, work hard and you will be loved.

| I like it.
We need to build a team based around youth as part of becoming more self sufficient. If the Knights were confident enough in this bloke to essentially entrust the next five years of the nucleus of their team to him, that's a pretty ringing endorsement.
Next year is a rebuilding year, although it would be not a whole lot of fun, I'd be prepared to finish outside the play off's as long as Sandercock is putting the processes and systems in place for the future.
Welcome aboard.

| Good luck to him
I suppose next season could be seen as a transitional one, and if so – it’s important the fans remain patient.
In all truth tho, I'd be surprised if we didn't finish in/around the play offs next year. We've still got a decent team and if we have a full season from messrs Dobson & Green I see no reason why we won't be able to finish in the fabled ‘8’ or above.

Where has this info of only signing one more player come from? I would assume we wont know if it's going to be 1 or more until the new season starts.
