In his second spell he looked awfully tired.

So how many fans do you think the big man added to your gate today. Forget the lack of away fans they never going to bring many. I would have thought the rovers powers that be would be a little disapointed with the gate.

SEEMED MORE. HOWEVER CONSIDERING JUST A FEW SEASONS AGO PULLING IN 1200 GOT TO BE HAPPY. ONLY WAY TO GET NEW FANS IN IS START WINNING TROPHYS.

£18 for North stand. Should have been £10 per adult and bring a kid free. Same number of stewards so no loss.

More importantly, We took 2 points, East stand was packed and nobody wants to stand in the south - It also appears that the North stand seating is out of favour now.

Good turnout from Crusaders I thought, heard them a few time too.

Only meaningful comparison is against last years corresponding fixture. The attendance for that was 7273 - so it appears Big Willie managed to put about 1400 on the gate.

Overall wasn't a bad performance, some good offloading play and have to hold my hands up and say on today's performance I have been wrong to doubt Mason.

Great afternoon and occassion, wish could see a DVD of it really.

They need to get east stand done quickly as a lot of fans who couldn't get tickets for east stand didn't bother going, as that's were people Want to be, so we will see when that extension gets done.

He kept popping up on peoples shoulder for the short ball and was seen too late, could have had a try or two had those passes been made.

Really impressed with him.

Well happy today with just how Mason played but just imagine just how powerfull he will be in a couple of weeks when he learns the plays and runs the right lines with power !!!!!!!
He will be busrting tackles for fun and hopefully since he "likes"Wattsy young Liam will learn heaps this year offa Big Willie.
Oh and the most postive thing is that i think Mason enjoyed it himself ! He looked quite happy both at the beginning and at the end.
Me and the other 3 will be back again this season no doubt.

Saturday the East Stand still had 80 tickets left on sale, had the extension been finished wouldn't that number have been more like 1080? I'm not saying it isn't going to be a big draw to have the stand go the full length of the pitch, it will be one of the best terracing stands in sport especially on derby day when it is sold out.

Also I think with the horrible "fine rain that soaks you through" on Sunday morning it wouldn't have helped the walk up supporters make their minds up to leave the decorating and come along to the game! A nice, hot summers day playing against Hull, Wigan, Saints, Warrington or Leeds and we could have seen an easy 10,000+ crowd but a cold wet spring day against the newest team in professional Rugby League I don't see that an 8,600 crowd is too bad.

As for how he played, well he was IMO everything we could wish for. If Galea does retire at the end of this year (be a real shame) we will certainly still have a back row that is feared throughout. Mason and Newton running on the edges is not going to please too many half backs that I am sure of!

I just hope Mason talks O'Meley into coming to Craven Park for a couple of years to replace Vella!
