Whoever is promoted from NL1 are way behind teams in SL in terms of recruitment. You can, but I think it's a little early to be judging players with only half a SL seasons experience in them.'"
Is this thread about what you needed to be top 6 or not
Bauer isnt good enough for top 6

'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'
Yves Le Prieur, the real inventor of the aqualung: |

| Not often I agree with B&W's but to be a top 6 side we need to change a good 60% of our squad. Too many people treat the players at this club at a level way above what they actually are.
If JM was given cart blanche to sign a squad within a full salary cap, he would probably keep no more than half a dozen of the current squad. He built a squad to get us out of NL1 and to be the nucleus of a squad to KEEP US UP and to do this he has had to bring in several players that were 'available' but probably not his first choice. If we do stay up we are going to have to recruit heavily for next season as ALL the other clubs will be as well.
Next years recruitment will be key to survival again as it will be at least 5 yrs before we can hope to challenge for a top 6 place.
JM said in an interview before the season started that his three year plan was to survive, consolidate and challenge. I think it will be survive, survive and franchise, then we can look at pushing on.

No it won't! We will know mid season if we have a franchise or not so what the team do on the field next year will have no bearing on our survival beyond 2008. Personally if we stay up this year then next year I would be looking at youngsters and giving this years squad another year to show what they can do. 2009 IF we get a franchise should be the big recruitment year imo!

Not this year it won't. I've always said Cooke will transfer to Hull KR eventually, I think thats pretty much common knowledge, however it won't be in 2007 and its very, very unlikely to be in 2008 either.

I have to say that Dave m's inside information about the comings and goings at both Rovers and FC is mightily impressive.

Always get a bite in the right plaice.
Never complain about another guests attitude at a mutual friends BBQ the day after the event and then be told by that host that its your own attitude that stinks.
Be man enough to complain on the day !!!!: |

| I really do miss the wit, humour and charm ( are those the right words) of Smokety TA since Rovers have been above Leeds this season.
In fact he does appear to have gone "shy" on most forums.
Long may it last.

If you look at last years SOO threads I also said that the move to prop seemed to have really revitalised him and he had become much more effective during 2008.

Dunno, think he has been playing 13 this season, he can play anywhere in the pack tbh except hooker, which is fine as we have 10 of those
