I suspect they sent a kid round delivering "sorry we missed you, your parcel is now at main office" cards because they couldn't be bothered, the queue was bigger than a big thing! I just pull them out, but you have to have finger nails and you have to do it right. If you break off the head and leave it in you have to dig it out, which gets very messy.
You also have to make sure you don't squeeze the body because you get 10 times the poison if you do.
