| Quote: phil webbo "No, still here!
But as you say maintaining a dignified silence (until now)
There has been a lot said about the stand, I personally think it's the wrong colour, but the cost to change it would be an expensive one because they are all self cleaning panels and all guarantees would be lost, the cost to change them would be £400k, to paint them (losing the guarantees and self cleaning properties) would be £100k and to just paint the pitch facing panels would be £40k.
The towers are to be red, the seats white with ROVERS spelled out in red seats, so what we have decided is to see what the finished build looks like, get the world cup games out of the way and then asses if any changes need making before the new season to the colours or indeed anything else.
People need to realize that now Rovers are not taking an active part in the project board that decisions still need to be made to get the stand open we cannot just stop.
And for the record myself and Neil remain friends, and talk all the time, so anyone that thinks there is a personal spat is wrong, this whole thing revolves around who agreed what with whom, which is not always as easy as it may appear, Neil actually thanked ourselves on sports talk but was quite damning towards our partners, his remarks today although not helpful is to be expected considering what he has given to the club and I full understand his frustration towards all of us.'"
Considering Rovers have a liability of around £2m on this build to repay, it is surprising they've washed their hands of participation on the project board. Surely the best way for them to influence getting best value for their ongoing, and material, repayments is to remain on the group?

Be careful when replying to Mrs Boreister Phil.
She will document anything you say and remind you about it in 40 years time.

"Funding for the project will come from European grants and council borrowing, with the money being repaid through a lease agreement with the rugby club and income generated by the training scheme.
Councillor Phil Webster, cabinet member for finance, said: "This is great news for Hull KR and great news for the taxpayer because it is not costing them a penny.""
Just saying, if I was contractually committed to £2m of repayments, I'd be desperate to exert all possible influence over the build and the best way would seemingly be to participate in the council-led steering group. What do you think, Mr Sailor?

Maybe he tried before realising he was banging his head against a brick wall.
When I had a double extension built with orangery I made sure my bricks matched
the existing building.
I certainly would not have been happy with someone telling me they had picked a different
colour because it blended in with the sky or the amount of toilets proposed were inadequate.
Surely there must be a basic formula for the amount of people in a stadium stand against
the amount of toilets needed to service such a crowd. Basics

| rovers' part of the build only amounts to about 25% of the overall value so why should they get a say in what colour it is? It really is a whinge about nothing and probably more aimed at getting money off for rovers ratehr than actually caring what colour it is. It's not as if teh rest of teh stadium is painted red

HDM really captured the essence of the story with the accompanying photo

Maybe, but is there evidence of Mike Smith, for example, documenting his expectations in the meetings? Just as you were on the front foot with your build, the onus is on each party to pro-actively influence and monitor progress at every stage. It would be interesting to hear what specific considerations Rovers put forward at an early stage and how these were subsequently disregarded or over-ridden, then that would provide context for standing down.
Do you grow oranges, then?

Tend to agree, but we are cynical. I'm thinking on derby day there, the lack of toilets might lead to a "rivers of pee" scenario.

Is there evidence that he didn't?
I use the 6 P's rule. It works for me.

Is it the SMC or are the tenants expected to foot the bill?
Also, would they do it after the football or Rugby season is finished?'"
Hmm, laying a new pitch in June or September. It's a tricky one, isn't it?

Mike's expectations have been met - it's facing the pitch.
