Neither in Rovers' case.

| Mr Bandito -- you should be ashamed of yourself for making such disparaging comments about young Lovegrove. I have to set the record straight -- for your information Rhys is staunchly British and extremely proud of it. As a small boy he had the bruises to prove it, sticking up for the British against the many "pommy knockers" down here in Sydney! Rhys' grandfather (from Durham) was one of the last off the beaches at Dunkirk and spent the war as a tail gunner hanging out the back of a Lancaster bomber shooting down German planes and was shot down over France. He continued his RAF service until 1969 seeing action in Borneo and Aden. Rhys' mother carried on the tradition (as a WRAF) getting into a few scrapes in Cyprus and on the West/East German border. Rhys is more proudly British than many of your UK citizens and always will be. He loves HKR, the City and its people and always will.

| Funny cos when he lived with a friend of mine he spoke twice to NRL clubs about going back to Aussie and playing over there in his first season in England.
Never mind, as long as he is happy wherever he is

Reinforces the point then, only FC are willing to field local players.

Yeah.
I'll have a word with Justin to play them just so I can bring up your quote again - I'm sure the many of us Rovers fans won't mind if we lose...

Maybe you should aim some critisism at the overseas superstars who performed so poorly on Friday (and the previous Friday) then, or was it the British/local players fault??
Signing stacks of foreign players doesn't necessarily equate to automatic success.

Foreign talent doesn't always equate to wins galore.'"
Works both ways, British / local players perform poorly aswell
But some posters will invariably not mention this if it interferes with their take on the situation

So you are saying that playing Celtic, who are many points adrift from everyone else, is not the best opportunity all season to play the likes of Esders or Spaven, or Watts for that matter who has been full time on your books for nearly 2 years. You go even further and suggest that risking one of them would lead directly to defeat. More evidence that these guys are in the squad purely as token homegrown players to make up the numbers.

FFS give it a rest, why don't you worry about your own team.

I've never said they don't. But the myth that everything foreign is so much better has been blown out of the water, particularly by Huddersfield

I'd like to think we'd give Celtic a bit more respect than that, especially with us going into the game on the back of 3 defeats in a row.
You don't get any extra points for how many home grown players you have playing and I'd much rather have players picked on their quality and not where they were born. If that means we're always on the edge of full quota etc. then so be it. A local average player is just an average player.
