And also how a touch judge that was sixty metres away saw an obstruction for the disallowed Larroyer try that wasn't seen by Child, (ten metres away) the in goal judge (fifteen metres away) and the other touch judge (thirteen point seven metres away).'"
Maurice Blair blatantly pushed Theo Fages off the ball, to stop him from attempting the tackle on Larroyer. Great decision by the TJ.

Outstanding as per usual. After taking a barrage of abuse under the posts from the KR fans in the first half, when they were 18-4 up he seemed to love giving it them back when Niall Evalds went in to make it 31-18. FC have got themselves a fantastic player in Taylor, we're really going to miss him.

| How does Kieran Dixon not make that team, that's a joke. Chester drops him for making the odd mistake. He's the only player who makes mistakes ?

I still struggle with that, he's scored 13 tries this year, been MoM in a lot of the games he's played and can't make the team. He's had one real stinker game at FB all year and that may have been down to fatigue but he's a game winner and player the opposition will worry about.

| yep scott looks a really good signing, as for Dixon don't see him play apart from against us and on telly, but he always seems a handfull and dangerous with the ball, albiet dodgy defending at times, still he is a game changer

| BC imo prevented some scores which I highly doubt Dixon would've been capable of stopping. But then, in the second half was far too easily passed at times too. Of course on the other hand, I'm sure had Dixon been playing we'd have scored from more of the line breaks etc. During the second half when we were stuck for ideas, (esp with Kelly severely restricted) how we all wished we had Dixon on the pitch.
Still, not surprising another inept away performance to add to the rest of them, so far.
Stat ... 4th time we've been nilled in the second half so far away from home this season (SL games).
Expanding further into purely 2nd halfs/away from home ... from 10 SL games
We've scored 54 pts
Average = 5.4pts per game.
Most we scored is 12 pts on 4 occasions, which = 48 of total 54 pts we've posted in 4 games ... 6pts from the other 6 games ...
Whatever goes on/said @ HT is clearly not having the desired effect ...

| With a 13 to 10 penalty count against Salford, how come Only Rovers had a player sin binned for persistent infringements?

| Both teams had team warnings. James Child ruled that Rovers' next infringement was within the acceptable time period for the team warning. Whilst indicating that Salford's next infringement was outside of the permitted 'team warning' period. I've no idea how much actual time passed for each warning. Salford's warning spanned HT which obviously helps with whatever leniency referees give.
Larroyer's decision to even give the referee something to think about was madness. 5th tackle/team warning/non threatening set ... and tbf his reaction was to seemingly hide and hope he'd get away with a binning rather than contest he'd been hard done to.

| East-Sard it just seemed strange that Rovers concede 3 less penalties but get a man binned.
Is there a set time after the team warning or just at the ref,s discretion

| Rovers conceded a number of penalties 15 minutes from HT. I’m surprised it took Child as long as it did to put you on a team warning. I believe the timeframe is around 10 minutes, once that passes the warning ‘expires’.
Anyway, during the time that Larroyer was off the pitch you managed to score another one and keep us out.

I believe the stats actually are that we conceded 13 penalties and not the beneficiary of 13.
1st half Rovers were canned by James Child and in particular for about 10-15 mins, which resulted in the warning and subsequent binning.
Salford by comparison seemingly conceded a lot less, emphasised by the ironic chants - but conceded something like 3 in a minute right in front of the Rovers fans.
In truth, I thought Child seemingly gave the warning as an after thought, resulting from calls from the away terrace rather than off his back. Again, whenever he pinged Salford in the 2nd half, it was in front of us and after the binning calls etc, seemingly looked at his watch as an after thought, as 'oh yeah ... they're on a warning' ....
He hardly inspires confidence ....

| Child's was an abomination. He clearly can't tell the time never mind officiate.
I nominate Scott Taylor as biggest pri#ck in super league. He never moaned taking Hudgell's money but stabbed him in the back. Then bummed Wigan joins the mercenaries and acts like a two year old when the mercenaries scored. Can't wait till he comes to craven park again.
We chucked it in after they gave up on childs. That was unacceptable.
The knock on for their 3rd try was a joke as was the pen for Larroyer's try. Fages obstructed McCarthy who pushed him out the way. The team penalty lasts for ten mins. The mercenaries lasted 7.
Childs couldn't referee arm wrestling. He should stick to Charles Hawtry look alike contests.

Ohhhhhh Burton. I wish I could nod along with this, chuckle at your undisputed perceptive analogies and say you're right on the money here with this post and Child's was the reason we lost against Salford. Just as Thomason disallowing the Mantellato try on a perfectly good lateral pass that was deemed forward against Widnes away robbed us of victory that day.
Childs is useless, we know that, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going. 2nd half, we weren't tough, we never got going. Why?
Some of our players lack spine, spirit, killer instinct, alertness, skill, strength, size and fitness. Without Campo and Horne, we lack leadership on the pitch and we were outcoached, out enthused and out muscled yesterday. We had enough chances yesterday to bury them.
So Sheens half time team talk probably reinforced to his team to exploit what was becoming obvious to all in the first half. We were soft in contact, sloppy around the ruck, disorganised in defence and resorting to infringe to slow down the ptb. Chester probably said be more clinical boys, choose the right options, give away fewer penalties, put more pressure on the kicker and chase the high balls harder. He didn't say - "fall asleep from the kick off and let's have a repeat of Huddersfield away."
I heard Lee Radford say in advance of yesterday's game - "I haven't got a pair of half backs who can play behind a beaten pack and I don't know many other teams with a similar luxury. I expect the guys I've picked today to do a job for me."
Food for thought and a vital communication message for Chezzie.
PS - Scott Taylor might be a complete classless nob, but in the last 2 games by his play, strong running and physicality, he has shown to me exactly what we are missing.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Fair enough, you were probably nearer than me and now you mention it I do remember Child's push signal.
As far as Taylor goes, I was a huge fan and supporter of him when he broke into our team but his behaviour towards Rovers fans over the last couple of season's despite provocation is not acceptable.
He can't be the bigger man, and his thicko attitude will lead to him going the same way as his England/ GB career.
