| The talk from Rovers this week has been about 'putting things right' (without hitting the panic button) so lets hope they can cut out the 'laying-on' and put beef (or even horse meat) behind their tackles.
Hopefully the spine of the team will be improved with Eden and Hally in there, but it will count for nothing if the pack don't do their job. There's no point back-slapping one big hit to then go and miss consecutive tackles. For me a Rovers win hinges on getting the defence right.

| Quote: Sandra The Terrorist "Is Lovegrove not fit then?
Because that's a team of plodding front rowers, Paea aside.
Yet to be convinced by Walker, although so far he's looked better than Tuimavave.
We need to boss the field tomorrow, I think we can, but do we have a plan "B"?'"
Just found out Lovegrove is fit.
Pack may line up like this:-
Tuimavave
Hodgson
Walker
Paterson
Mika
Ferguson
Carlile
Horne
Paea
Lovegrove
If we went with the above, we can keep it solid and get in the arm-wrestle and then there's plenty of zip and go-forward off the bench.
It will be interesting to see which middle players start and which ones come off the bench.

| Sounded like big penalty and error counts, but we desperately needed a win and we got one.

Seriously, 34 points in 34 minutes = cue on the rack. In related news, sporting team in "Getting players back from injury results in improvement" shocker. Cracking win and, maybe Warrington apart, a decent and completely winnable run of fixtures until April.

| Probably haven't learned anything new today. We can score points for fun & switch off just as quickly, but we knew that already. Thought we showed some real aggression in the 1st half. Gareth Hock is the best pantomime villain in Super League Outside of the West Stand is suddenly looking smart.

| Today showed that when we get a fair share of the ball we have some real quality on our edges and can hurt teams.
However, the second-half showed that the team lack composure and patience but I think that goes with the territory when you have such a young side like us. Though maybe the multiple confrontations with Gareth Hock in the second-half meant the game was always going to get a bit scrappy.
Con Mika ignited the team with his murderous tackling and Paterson was different class but everyone played well.
Just hope Paterson doesn't cop a ban for his late challenge on Briscoe because I feel we can start to build some momentum if we get a bit of continuity.

You appear to have jumped the gun. What odds are available now?

| 1st half, Rovers showed some much needed aggression in defence and Widnes didn't look up for it. We couldn't work out if we had become world beaters overnight, or the wheels had all fallen off over in Cheshire.
The second half showed it was more likely the latter. Still lots of work for Mr Sandercock one suspects. The RH side still looks vulnerable but Paterson did a great job down the other side.
I read somewhere that "Rovers will regret letting Shannon McDonnell leave". All I can say after seeing Eden's debut is, Shannon who? We may not have class all across the park, but as long as Eden is fit, we have a genuine class full back.

| I thought Caro was fantastic today. Yes, hes still got a long way to go but in terms of raw talent the kids fantastic. Thought he was graet at the end when he got taken out, he just got straight back up & lamped him.
Still plenty of room for improvement, but it feels good to get that first win of the season.

Did you actually read anything that I posted or are you just over here for the fishing?

Haven't put them back up as yet but wouldn't imagine much variance after you get beat by the bottom team in SL next week at the Salford City Stadium.

So, had we lost it would affect the odds,
Quote: WIZEB "Just trying to be helpful.
You'll be a lot shorter than 8/1 after you lose your next two games to Widnes and Salford.
I'd take the 8's while you can?'"
But because we won it wont?
Bet your bookie loves you all the way to his yacht.
