einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |
|
| Quote: SirStan "Am I the only one waking this morning disappointed that we didn't receive an overnight visit from Voltaire to remind us of our relegation certainty with our "worst side since '89"?
I'm sure he will pop by soon.........'"
Of the 25 teams since 1989 I think this current team would beat at least 23 of them

| Not sure how to work links on this but type in 'résumé Hull KR vs Dragons Catalans (R5)' into YouTube and you'll get a good length video of yesterday's highlights and another chance to see Kelly's pass to salter at around 6mins 50 seconds, wow

Plus, the sound effects puts the viewer right in action - it's like actually being there ... "FORWARD"
[list[* First try was abysmal line defending - we didn't even move off the line - mental[/*
[* Lima's late hit on Walker was ridiculously late - may not have been the worst - but all the same, shoulder and intention, perhaps coulda' also merited 10 mins[/*
[* Allgood's intentions may have been in the right place, but throwing punches like that against a 7 who wasn't particularly well positioned to defend himself, isn't really on and on another occasion could've seen red. Not like he missed either in full view of the referee.[/*
[* The second half masterclass from Campese and Kelly was wonderful. Passing and inventiveness was awesome. The balls to our centres were at times were absolute perfection. Can't be a coincidence that both Welham and Salter have recently served up their best offensive showings for a long time. With current service let's hope it continues.[/*
[* Yes, the ball did bounce our way in the second half, but we've shown willingness in every game to give it a go. Sometimes like Wakefield it doesn't come off and we were jenk and other times like yesterday it does. [/*
[* If we can craft a better more game awareness then who knows, but some of the play we've served up so far has been very refreshing and dare I say, enjoyable![/*[/list

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| With the exception of the last 15 minutes at Wakefield, our performances this year have at least been positive ones even in defeat and that is reason alone to put a smile on all our collective faces - fans, players and coaches alike.
Yes, we still have issues in defence and we still have brain farts with needless penalties and forcing plays but encouragingly the team now has the vital ingredients of confidence and self belief which all good and successful teams need to sustain top level performances on a regular basis.
So much spin is put out by the club into the media. On the evidence of the season to date, there is only 5 team-specific goals and improvements so far that have come to fruition.
1. We have got off to better start than in recent years
2. We seem to be playing as a team with smiles on our faces and for each other (note how often our players rush in to high five and back slap)
3. We are improving in key areas week on week (e.g. game management, commitment and direct running) and really starting to gel
4. We have X Factor attacking pivots with creativity in attack and a much improved kicking game
5. We have better strength in depth in most areas and good competition for places
We are a long way from the finished article.
Finally, let's get rid of Bailey, sign a new but younger skilful prop (similar to Walker and Allgood) and a chunky back rower, improve our Defence and look forward to a top 8 finish.

| Two of my favourite halves doing what they do in that clip.
Dureau and Campese both do things you just don't see coming and you just have to think "well played" when they come off.
Great to see them both play.

He's probably been signed up to this coffee pyramid buying and selling lark. As I recall the true, genuine and original French Voltaire (not the grenade lobbing lobotomised cretin that stumbled on here last week) relied on copious amounts of coffee for his creativity. At the time of his visit here last week, it was obvious that our Voltaire was awaiting his first consignment.

That was a sweet pass. My favourite moment is Welham handing off the two Catalan players in quick succession.

Agree with all but getting rid of Bailey, If the club line is correct then at least let him shake of his injury, get in the side & show us how good he is.

| We've lost Allgood for at least 2 weeks, so we either find new props or Walker & Green are doing 80 mins

Yes - irrespective of what injury Allgood sustained to his hand, the RFL have charged him with punching. His Grade C charge is normally at least 2 matches and I cannot see any mitigating circumstances swinging in his favour. Clearly he was p***ed off at missing the Tommy Coyle gym sessions before Xmas and needed to prove what he could do.
We need a new prop and fast.

| CC has said he's looking at Aus for a prop and it could take upto 6-8 weeks.
Hopefully Bailey might be ars*d to get himself out of bed to training this week
