So, Radford is the "propmaker" now is he?'"
Is was a bit of a joke, but Watts and Paea have improved under him, if that's him I'm not sure.
You certainly needs 3/4 strong forwards which with no quota players is going to be hard, I'd be looking to realise a couple of quota players including one of your wingers.

Sio & Mantellato have both been in our top 5 performers all season, I can't see Rovers releasing either early when they are both on 3 year deals. Nor should they. Rovers should be looking to find the next Chris Hill, Alex Walmsley or Antony England. Lets face it, our fixture list from August will give us plenty of scouting opportunities!

| Quote: Dave K. "Maybe both clubs looking for a new coach then, massive failure for Chester with all the superstars and dreamteam halfback combination, is his job on the line if you lose the semi final?'"
Nah, or at least I would hope not. We're poor away from home, concede too many points and are underpowered up front. But we have shown flashes of promise, the good-ish home form and little cup run have offered cheer, and when you consider the rebuild and subsequent patch and mend he's done - well, 10th is disappointing but with 18 point, I'd say massive failure is over egging it.
Ultimately Radford has done okay-ish in his second season, especially the second part of it, after a poor start. He looks secure for now.
Both need to do better next year though, I reckon.

| Are quota spots necessary for prop recruitment. Over the last few years the UK has produced better props than oz. Go down the leagues and get a big Lad from there heart and size go a long way. I'd play Algood in the SR and get him running out wide, even Tilse at a push. I'd also look to sign Greenwood up, bags of potential that lad. Burke on the other hand looks a bang average plodder.

| Won't be sad to see the back of Burke, but very much doubt Wigan will want him back. Probably be in a 'middle 8' side next year. And before any of our friend from across the river choose to pipe up. Yes I know we will be in that group.

| Getting one good forward from the championship is hard enough, but to sign 3/4 that you require is going to really tough. Not but quality available for English SL players either, what's the chance of Peacock continuing next year?
Best chance could be a couple of Leigh or Bradford forwards when one if them doesn't come up, plus maybe Wakey. Players like Scruton, kirmond, hock, Barlow, sidlow or ferguson type player.

| I'd certainly be in for Sidlow if Bradford fail to get promoted. Maybe Greenwood on a permanent deal, but big Tony will be a miss, I wonder if we could ask him to go round for 1 more year?

We'd need a non-fed spot for TP. If we did free one up, I'd look at somebody younger.

Depending on what happens with Walker, I think 2 could be sufficient to rebalance things. We've overcompensated the last few years. Our forwards aren't bad players, though some are admittedly 'average', but that's part of any SL squad. The issue is that too many are steady-reliable types, more or less incapable of doing the things that fans do notice and which, despite that, are important parts of the game.

Are you sure? If true, how is he presently being accommodated?
He's been in the UK for 27 years so maybe he's got an exemption.

| I thought the reason he wasn't registered at Salford was due to the good Doctor buying in more imports than he had spots, or was that a bit of spin?

I think we deregistered Weyman for Tilse, Allgood for TP and Campese for Chisholm. TP joined Saints a year too late to get the dispensation.

Well there really was no need to de-register Weyman, he was back on the farm months before Tilse showed up. Seeing as Allgood is due back next month, and TP is here all year I don't see how that works at all. The Campese one I get.

Tilse for Weyman - takes time, innit? Same as Chisholm only arriving a while after Campese got injured. Plus back then our long term injury situation wasn't quite as bleak as it later became.
I haven't heard anything about allgood's return for a while. Certainly since TP arrived. I think things just got so bad that we bit that particular bullet, rather than waiting in the hope Allgood would play the last handful of games.

| On a positive note, we can now treat the St Helen's game as a trial game to give our new half back a run out and try different things before our semi final.
