And Sailmakers down High Street too. It really is a fantastic area for ale drinkers. There are other hidden gems like Hop & Vine down Albion Street, but for a visitor to Hull it'd be best sticking to the one area probably, so therefore the above suggestions are all great.
Not sure about getting to the ground from there though, e.g. taxis might be very busy because of the festival.

Pop to the ye olde white Harte to. Always served a mean theakstons there. Old peculiar....fantastic. Second oldest pub in hull behind black boy.

You're not thinking of "The White Hart" near Dry pool bridge are you? Ye olde white Harte is still open, well it was in June. As Roofs says though, will it be a good idea doing that area with the Freedom Festival in full swing.

Bit of brainfart by me as I was in ye old white hart 2 weeks ago I walked by White Harte the other day and noticed it had closed so ignore anything I've said on this thread

Where in town is this? There is a Head of Steam pub in Leeds City Centre which is great.

Right opposite Holy Trinity. Used to be Kings and for a while was The Purple Pig.

I called in a couple of weeks back, pretty good beer selection. Very much akin to the Headingley branch.

I have been in there on a couple of occasions with the wife and was pleasantly surprised how nice they have made it since the refurb, some nice beers on offer as well.

Well cheers, went to black boy and lion and key, fantastic both of them, especially l and k, 14 handpumos, and the quality was brilliant. Will be sure to return mext year when in SL (fingers crossed)
