That said, you have to be in finals to win them and the financial benefit is substantial. Some compensation at least, although I can say that while sitting through our no-show in 2013 I did wish we'd never made it there in the first place.

I can understand the Hull fans taking the pee ( I would have done the same ) I can even understand them putting banners on the bridges (I couldn't be bothered personally ) but to get up on a bank holiday go spend some money on balloons travel into town in the rain to take the pee out of your rivals losing a final is one of the saddest things I've heard and shows a real small club mentality something they constantly acuse us of

I totally agree, but it was I reckon about 20 of them max. And out of a fan base of several thousand, there are always going to be a few who think it's clever and original. Like you say the majority of us wouldn't be bothered, but every side (even ours) has its share of loons. They only made themselves look stupid heckling from the back and doing a bit of pantomime booing. Bless them!

I heard that one of them was in the dog house as he should have been at his mum's 50th birthday party yesterday afternoon. She was even more peed off that she had no balloons to celebrate the occasion. Loving, devoted darkside sons eh? Is there such a thing?
