You were bemoaning the fact that your lad tackles "everything that moves" and then went on to describe a scenario where kids were running around on the dancefloor at a party and your boy was demonstrating his tackling ability once more.

I answered that I find the sort of behaviour where kids run around unchecked in public places more than onerous - I do. (At the time I was in a pub in Wakefield before the Wakey/Hull match and similar shenanigans were occurring even as I posted. Irritating to say the least.)

You pointed out that you had, in fact, remonstrated with your son (despite the fact that your brother appeared not to share your parental values and encouraged you to stop). You then - bizarrely, I thought - asserted that you'd never been in any "bother" (I took that to mean you hadn't been in any trouble with the police, but wasn't quite sure what that had to do with the discussion) and told me to butt out with my advice.

Fair enough - I probably had been a tad rude, reading it back without the context of the unpalatable behaviour going on around me, so I left it there.

A few days later I saw your strange quote of yourself and commented. Then you started demanding an "answer". Sorry, I hadn't realised you wanted one as you'd expressly told me you didn't need my advice.

Previous incarnations of "Chat Thread" were where a lot of previously slighty antagonistic Hull and Rovers fans shared a bit of a joke and learned to like each other a bit more, which in turn made some of the rest of the board a little less bitchy.
