| Quote: CHURCHILL "But if Fax had won, you, like us, had we got the point would have been more than happy with it.
I think Fax have more reason to be gutted because let's be fair The Jungle pitch is only about 60 yards long, you can drop a goal there from behind your own line with a back wind.
No, no complaints, games over, Warrington won, much applause and credit to them.'"
No honestly I would not have been happy with it even if we had won.
What is wrong with two 10 minutes halves of extra time?
I am sure that there would be at least one try in 20 minutes after games like yours and the Cas v Fax one.
Like I said if not and sombedoy manages to get a drop goal then fair enough, at least both sides had time to try and win the game.

What and just let a cup semi final go by as a result?

| Does anyone know of a golden point situation where the team who hasn't received the ball from kick off has gone on to win it?
If I recall correctly, there was a SoO game a few years ago decided with a golden try from an intercept but I can't remember who kicked to who...

Which has what exactly to do with the topic, Golden Point.
You disapear for months when Hull are losing and Rovers are winning.
But the rules on this forum remain.
Keep on topic.

| Quote: Fax4Life "Now you guys have suffered the same fate as we did at Cas what do you all think of the golden point rule???
I think its naff, not the best way to settle a game at all.
Extra time should be played - I do not have a problem with losing by a drop goal but with the golden point it just becomes a drop goal marathon.
We never even got a chance to have a go at Cas, we kicked off and then 5 drives later Cas won.
In todays game it was drop, drop, drop and with Lee Briers on the pitch Warrington always had the best chance of getting one over. He once kicked 5 at the Shay!
Hard luck guys, we are down to one Yorkshire team now in the semis Cas or Huddersfield.'"
i love the golden point and think we should have it in sl for draws.
but remeber folks the refs will not give pens in golden point. so almost anything goes
like when briscoe was tackled in golden point and the ref called "held first tackle" briscoe played on and should have been penalised just to the side of the sticks 2 meters out but bentham didnt have the balls to give it.

I picked up on the Briscoe thing, Bentham did call the tackle, but like you said didn't have it in him to penalise us.

| The Golden Point just becomes a dropgoalathon , I would have much preffered a 10 minute each way extra time - though the players may well disagree with that one.

Golden Try? I think that would be a far better way to decide a game and a lot more entertaining than hit and hope drop goal attempts.

They tried this in Union in September, they had to abandon the first game in January and toss a coin
