It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.:27608.jpg |

I barely noticed the ref. Was more concerned as to how cack Rovers were tbh. Poor effort across the park and I don't think one player can come off that pitch happy with their efforts.
But if talking about the ref makes you feel better the go ahead

I will go ahead cos the ref was cack few decisions went against us our heads go down knock on effect and hey presto so does our confidence, at the end of the day Leeds played better on the night am not gonna lie and say we were spectacular cos we weren't, a couple of our players put the effort in sadly the rest didn't, big changes in the team for next season as apart from the challenge cup next round which we won't win our season is over Imo has been for a few weeks, the odd game we have won means nothing now.

You can't blame the ref for our inability to keep hold of the ball.

| Quote: barham red "You may have a point but to criticise him (or not credit him) with his achievements in his first 3 years is seriously undermining your arguement and showing you as someone with an agenda.
Getting us up and keeping us up was massive achievement, getting a team to over reach is what a good coach does isn't it?
Yes we might look a poor squad ATM and time may soon be up on JM's tenure but please don't deride what he has done in his time here, he will go down as the coach who oversaw our rise back to the top league and should be recognised for that.
I'm not a Morgan apologist and he has some serious questions to answer but that is going too far.
By the way he hasn't had the full cap to spend this year, Hudge signed Mason and cocked it up thus losing us a minimum of £120k cap, do you think his time is up as well.'"
No agenda from me. Was there to see Millward probably stay a season too long and although Morgan has done well past acheivements dont count for a lot to me.
Its ok some saying he has credit in the bank, but I'd like to know how many would be that generous if relegation was still in operation.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Quote: rover49 "While we can all agree we were soundly beaten by a better side I also question some dubious refereeing decissions, the one that got me the most was when Leeds were pressing our line and kicked into the corner but it went dead, the linesman and touch in goal ref pointed to the 22 m mark for a tap, but the ref decided to run back to the posts and give Leeds a penalty for a Rovers player being in front of the line (25 yards from the play), from which they promptly scored, yet in the first half when we were pressing their line we were screaming at him to watch the offside when ALL the Leeds players were in front of the line and WERE effecting play by hitting the ball player. Selective penalties is cheating in my opinion. There were quite a few 'gifts' of posession to Leeds when we were attacking.
Also, Newton quite clearly grounded the ball for a try, but he decided he was held up and when he awarded a drop out when Leeds lost control behind the line and a Rovers player touched it down, it was clearly a try.
We put ourselves under pressure a lot with handling errors, but he helped the Leeds cause as well with several poor decisions.'"
I wouldn't go so far as to say cheating, but there were a few strange calls. I also thought he gave us a few in the period up to half time.
One I really didn't understand was in the first half, Leeds kick on the last, Murrell turns his back and the ball is kicked at his calf, Leeds player picks the ball up and the signal is given for six to go. Unless I missed something there I really couldn't see how you can play at a ball when you're not even looking.
Over all, on reflection we were poor. Our pack, in those conditions bearing in mind that four of the Leeds pack were backing up from a tough game on Friday night. It's criminal that we allowed them to get so on top of us.

I'm not saying past achievements should count but I wouldn't belittle them anymore than I'd say Millward overachieved in winning his titles and a challenge cup.

| This is probably a really dumb question, but when conditions are as bad as they were last night, why don't the players try those grip-gloves which were worn by half-backs in union quite a bit a few years ago?

It would make sense.

| Thought Leeds 2nd & 3rd tries were clearly forward but they'll never get given when Leeds are at home.

30, count them, 30 missed tackles.
626 more metres made by Leeds.
I wouldn't normally single out one player, but I'm going to here. What on earth did Fisher do last night? 5 metres from 4 carries and 3 missed tackles. I'm a fan of Fisher's normally but that is just not acceptable.

I'm surprised by that, I actually thought Fisher did ok and then the tackles that he made that stuck in my mind were brilliant.

Oh it's not the be all and end all using Opta statistics but it's sure how we were monstered by a pack, half of whom had played less than forty eight hours ago.
For example, Leeds made two more errors than us, but then, they did actually have a lot more ball than us and attempted to do something with it other than dropping it off to the the player stood (still) next to them who then just collapses in a heap on the floor.
