Quote: Burtons Forearm "Once in 7 games he did.

He's got ability but so far the character of a door mat. Needs to be aggressive and so far he hasn't.

Chisholm pulled off some game changing plays for us in the super 8s. Thought he got better each game and pulled off some wonder plays.'"

Chisholm had flashes of showing what he had, usually when a play had gone wrong and he kind of improvised, can't remember which game it was in the 8's but he should have kicked, didn't looked like getting nailed in his own half on the last and ended up creating a great try. 9 out of 10 times that ends badly but fair play it came off. The rest of the time he looked totally knackered after the smallest burst of energy.
I'd rather go with Marsh than signed Chisholm, as the goose says he had small flashes of something but again he was behind a mostly beaten pack with crap runners off him, thought Albert looked crap on Sunday apart from his late chip over, his kicking was awful.

Try going to some games.'"

I dont think chisholm is the answer either my shout would have been josh drinkwater, who we tried to sign when campese got injured last season. Was outstanding and won the player of the year in west tigers reserve grade and was a standout with london when playing over here.Iam afraid campese has been a standout player during his career, but canberra saw the danger signs, releasing him because of his injury woes, great bloke and class player when fit but at nearly 32 and both knees dodgy is he worth the risk.?

His kicking was awful. Albert though will improve with game time. He's not played fit since July.
I'm not advocating signing Chisolm just comparing our strengths to end of last season.
Chisolm was terribly unfit. He did way in with a few great tries and assists but I wouldn't want him back.
I thought our 3 props went well with the ball. Green was a menace throughout. It's the back row. They defend next to the halves and are supposed to protect them. Ours fail hence Albert is constantly defending.
Marsh does look like he can defend. He needs to be more Andy Gregory...nastier take control but he looks like he's about to apologise every time he gets the ball.

I thought chisolm's kicking game was really good the best we have had since dobbo especially close to the line, but as says above he was really unfit and I'm not sure he actually took it seriously being over here and didn't get out of 2nd gear

Matty Marsh might have potential, but having seen him play now 6 times, I keep asking myself when and if he is ever going to have any impact in a game, beyond shipping on a pass, making a tackle or kicking away possession. Saw Dane Chisholm 5 times and despite what has been written by some other posters, yes he had some limitations, but he also had the skill and confidence and game smarts to make things happen. Result was he created opportunities, often by improvisation.

To me Marsh has been very anonymous in these games and along with all our backs, last Sunday's game was his worst ever. He needs to be sponsored by Pirelli as he adds a new dimension to ultra low profile. Yes, he's learning his trade, but as we all know, you don't get long nowadays to hit your straps, unless your name is Liam Salter.

As a pivot and starting in the Derby friendly, he needs to show more flair and creativity with a hint of leadership, and once he does then I'll start singing his praises and get off his case.

I hope a lot of you aren't going to bother turning up to many games this season. I already can't be d to hear the moaning from half of you.
Saying Campese won't make 10 games is just a guess that you're dressing up as fact. He might not play 10 games, he might play 20, if you expect us or anyone else to be able to sign another top level half back who is happy to twiddle his thumbs until Campese or Kelly possibly get injured, you're deluded.
Marsh might not have imposed himself on any games aside from Widnes last season yet but he has also never looked like being made roadkill. The type of player Marsh is needs to grow into a team, he's not a flair player like Chisholm or Kelly, he is an organiser and as a young lad its extremely difficult to walk into a team of seasoned pros and dominate proceedings.

Top quality halfs are hard to find. The UK has produced maybe 4? since Andy Gregory & Schofield. The big problem is where is Marsh going to learn there is no A team anymore & why should lower league sides take them on loan? it disrupts their side's. It will allways be dificult untill we have ten times the numbers playing our game. I suspect if you had put him behind Fc's pack on Sunday he would have done OK.
