Yes, I'm really obsessed with Rovers . I've come here to have rugby debate with some decent and intelligent Rovers fans ( not you) and you on the other hand have managed to mention in Hull (which isn't relevant to the topic) in nearly all your posts.
You need to have a look at the word obsessed in the dictionary.
As I've said before , if Rovers fans don't want people to come on here and discuss rugby then go into you private forum.

I thought you said you was leaving it there in your last post. You just can't help yourself.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

You make interesting but incorrect points.
We're far to short of brawn in the forwards, we at least needed and have signed a big unit.
Puletua is pretty much finished and I'd be amazed if he stayed beyond this year.
Our game plan over the last few weeks has been to keep the ball anywhere but the middle, that's just not sustainable.
We turned up and did okay against Leeds but they blasted us in the forwards whenever they went there. The game was never really in doubt, Leeds controlled it.
As to outr youth, Ollett I think will make it, he's coming on leaps and bounds, Essellmont is apparently not going to be offered a new deal and Holker made a very good debut, but it was a debut.
Watching our 19's as I occasionally do, there are no front rowers that I would feel happy about throwing into the men's game.

| Quote: barham red "It's a short term fix, Wigan aside have any clubs got 4 decent academy props to step up?
Hull fans coming on preaching is almost laughable as they currently have signed permanent deals for feka and sa both slots could have been filled with young local lads, maybe even a young player of the year, crookes maybe? Ranking an average aussie keeping shaul out, talanoa brought off the bins to keep out a young lad? What is worse a loan signing or a player permanently being kept out.'"
You have Cox and Green, so would only need 2 youth players short term ( how long are walker, tilse and Burke out for?), or even one if you signed Greenwood, who I have no problem with, as I can see the merits in his signing and the need for one loan player.
Again, why are you using Hull as your benchmark Stan ?
I've been very vocal on our forum about certain players keeping out others at Hull, such as Micheals, so feel as strong about it for Hull.

Only time will tell if I'm incorrect Sandra, TP could turn out to be a useful signing, but could also be another Bailey.

Would you rather we actually look to do something positive about our predicament, or follow the Salford template of ' oh poor us please take pity on us' ( and I meant that as a rugby fan, without taking this weekends fixture into account). And I also agree we need a 20/21's instead of the 19's'"
Chased him off with our torches and pitchforks, innit?
Feel a bit bad.
I think the sport would be much better off with 21s. A-team is a pipe dream, but 21s has to be looked at again, IMO. The downside is you're asking kids who mostly aren't going to make it to give up time when they could be getting training, education or starting out on a career. And if they're not RL training full-time, the step up to SL will still be pretty significant.

I Think Dave just wants us to play our youth to give FC a fighting chance. Just the one win against us at the magic weekend is just not good enough.

If you are talking about me, don't worry I'm a big boy and can look after myself, I'll just try and ignore the internal trolls.
Difficult to know what to do with the players who ate over 20, DR doesn't work well enough, we currently have players like Shaul and Cunningham just sat on the stands not playing any rugby, not sure what the solution is?

TP has said he's retiring at the end of the season. I think he just wants to go out with his boots on, rather than twiddling his thumbs at Salford.

Dave you have now made 12 posts on this thread.
If your first had been sincere, genuine and well considered there would have been no need for the other 11.

Do you not understand debating, I've just been replying to other peoples posts, as you seem to be tracking my posts (now 13) have a look at some of my others about Rovers and I think you will find them balanced.
I said the same on the Salford forum when they signed Godwin the same when we signed Howarth and Feka ( although was wrong about that one)
So if you think my first post wasn't genuine that you are don't know me at all.

It's a really tricky one. Dual reg can work as a development tool - predictably, Wigan, Saints and Leeds seem to do well from it. It does feel like the not all that thin edge of a farm system wedge though, especially where it is working 'best'.
Every choice is a sacrifice, and I don't think RL has faced up to that very well in recent years. Always tries to hedge its bets - goes for the best of both worlds and just falls between stools.
I'd sack off dual-reg, leave youngsters with their amateur clubs a bit longer (pro coaches to be a bit more involved to help develop good habits), have pro club run under-18s, and from there allow pro clubs to nominate players to half a dozen or so RFL-run under 21 regional academies, paid for from the clubs' sky money.
It's far from flawless, and I very much doubt Wigan or Leeds would go for it, but it's the best I can come up with.
