| We could well have lost it if the final conversion was 2 ft to the right. However, that's not really my point. We have been here before 12 months ago and I want to see far more evidence of improvement before tying the club to a coach who has yet to prove he's up to the job. Why the rush?

| Quote: Easty "Turning your comment around what hasn't he done deserve one? We've lost against Saints(A),Wigan(A), Leeds(H), Castleford(H) and Catalans(A) in the league. Now prior to the season starting how many of those games would you have realistically expected to win. ERM the Castleford game only probably, In the matches we lost we've played some good halves of rugby in every games except Castleford. Teams will always have off days and for me Castleford was ours but whilst looking at how they are playing and the fact we went into that game missing Poore, Weyman & Langley showed we lacked some punch.
Add that Sandercock's role isn't purely the 1st team he actually has an active role in the youth sides of which both are performing VERY well this year with the U16's side been unbeaten so far this year.'"
So you're happy to not win any games against the better teams, just beat the teams below us and maintain our status as a mid table team? I want to see us beat the better teams more often rather than rarely in order to challenge for a top 6 finish. Surely that has to be our aim, to progress? If we want to keep finishing 8th CS is the right man no doubt. But after finishing 10th, 8th, and currently in 9th forgive me for questioning the timing of this if true.

Hudge has learned from the way the Mickey Paea deal went down.

No ofc I'm not happy but on the other hand we don't have a god given right to go out and beat any side. I want gradual improvement. We won't get instant success because as a club we don't have the money for that but what I can see is gradual improvement in all areas of the club. I'm sure this new deal for Craig isn't based purely on results because if it where it would be touch and go. It will be gauged on improvement in all areas of the football side of the club. With this in mind I believe a three year deal would be in the best interest of Craig and the club.

| Why don't we get Justin Morgan back and still finish eighth but watch really boring rugby and plenty of hammerings from the big boys

That's a very wide ranging assumption.

| Quote: Voltaire "Perhaps the club should inform fans that they are only looking to win one out of every five games , or do not expect to have much chance against decent teams before said fans splash out several hundred pounds having been given expectations of challenging for the top 5 and having aspirations of a decent team.
I am sure the end of season table will tell its usual story of bottom half pluckiness...mixed with some downright awfulness with the odd decent performance...'"
I don't 're call anyone claiming we would finish 5 th let alone above that.
I want Sandercock to be a success as he seems a decent intelligent hard working man. He has been incredibly unlucky generally. Unlucky with injuries and look who he pulls out the hat in the cup each time. Some refs decisions well...
His tactics and substitutions have been poor in a lot of games but are improving. He's terrible with the media and his anxieties seem to rub off on the players sometimes.
Our league form is up and down under him so I have doubts about him like many on here but......
He inherited a basket case going nowhere fast when Morgan left. From what I saw of results the youth teams were getting battered each week. Our first team regularly folded.
This takes years to change with a new culture and training. 2years in and our youth team are beating Wigan's.
He seems to improve the majority of his players especially the halves hookers and props. He's bought sensibly and the players clearly want to play for him.
We had an incredibly thin squad which he has rectified in 2 seasons.
Our attack is coming together under this new squad and the defence is no longer soft in the middle.
He seems the type of coach who'll leave a long positive legacy and he's improving as a head coach all the time.
For me stick with him.
Comparing him to Powell is harsh. Some coaches make an immediate impact then implode spectacularly. Let's see how Cas go over the next 2 years.
I think our young forwards give us a bright future...Walkers Green Hodgson Cox Larroyer (if we keep him) and he should get credit for that. He needs a strong assistant to help him. Is Chester who we should replace? I don't know.
We are a mid table club punching above its weight regularly. If he can get us in the top 6 this year that's a serious achievement. It's not beyond us. Our next 8 fixtures will tell us everything.
He has a family living here and will be offered jobs in Aus if Roopy's posts are a judgement of his reputation as a backroom coach over there. We couldn't wait much longer to make him an offer.
Could be a shocker to keep him. Could be a shocker to let him go.

CHAIRMAN Neil Hudgell says the best Super League squad Hull KR have assembled is good enough to challenge for a place in the top five. And if Rovers can stay free of the injury woes that struck them last season, he sees no reason why that can’t be a realistic target.

| Highlighting the paragraph in red wont make it prove the point you hope if would. Perhaps you could point out where anyone from the club states top 5?
About as convincing an argument as your off half's claim the you can make the Grand Final.

Well that was a bummer. We've lost one player for the season whilst J Walker A.Walker, Langley and Gleeson along with D.Hodgson have already had long spells on the sidelines whilst Keatings currently missed the last two games after limping off against Warrington..

| Well, while you lot of sycophants, who gladly lick up to people with no rugby knowledge or record, enjoy the delights of finishing 8th, 10th and probably 8th , 9th or 10th , wallow in the genius of giving another genius a new £100,000 deal out of your gate money, some of us will be glad never to watch an RL game again..
Rovers are desperate for anyone with some RL knowledge to be involved at the top, the Sandercock decision stinks of amateurs....as did the month jolly to Aus(on the club), to appoint him...
Aside from Phil Lowe, who is practically senile now, there is absolutely no RL people involved, a very sad state of affairs..the chairman(and Vice and assorted buddies (commentator etc)), (none of em ever played at all), lets be honest, if he had no money and was an everyday supporter , would not be anywhere near the club in opinion or decision, yet he makes every decision going that drives the club in entirely the wrong direction on the field at least...luck followed by money is all it is and its leading Rovers up a very wrong path...by all means whack your money in but get rid of your useless mates and get some RL people in , we aint got Roger Millward or any men of experience this time around so its gonna be hard work...and Sandy ain't a Moses...
