30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

What is, the contents of the whole thread or the previous one about the Allams buying us.

The Allams are about to have to bankroll a Premiership soccer team. I doubt that purchasing another money sink would seem that desirable right now.

Should bankroll itself with all the money the Premier clubs get. I doubt the money needed to keep a SL side running would be as much as a reasonable player in top flight football.
Don't forget, the Allams are self confessed philanthropists and don't do it for themselves, but for the people of Hull.

The energy and attention it'd require might be a bigger issue than the cash.
Their players have still got a fair-sized task in front of them anyway!

That'll be why all those Premiership clubs are making vast profits then.

Spend less, cockles, and break even.'"
Have you decided what team you will obsess over next if Rovers go under?

| You can guarantee that the 'Merger' word will soon be bandied about. If so ,I suggest we take the name 'Hull' from our neighbours and 'Kingston Rovers' from us.

| Don't see the problem, basically Hudgell & Crossland don't want to put any more money in, that means spending a lot less on the cap to break-even and with it, an inability to compete with the top 8 or so clubs. That's fair enough, they've done their bit.
Basically it's a cry out for someone to take over the club on the break-even model, or someone else to bankroll the club.
All this talk of the championship is a little premature, you have a grade b license (I think) that allows you at least another four years in SL.

Back to the HDM comments section with you!
I think East Hull FC fan has it right. Current directors to provide clean slate to new owner. Rovers cap spend then dependent on appetite of new owner to support losses on a scale of Larvin to break even. Hudgell does have drama queen tendencies, and this, coupled with City's anticlimactic effort earlier this week, make a convenient story for the HDM to divert negativity away from their beloved ones for 15 minutes.

They did away with that iirc. Tbh, they pretty much did away with the whole system.
It is far from clear that a break even model exists for Hull KR in SL. The cut in spend, to that extent, will mean that the squad would be significantly weaker, performances would suffer, crowds would fall further, requiring another cut in spending and so on. Like a few clubs, we're only really tenable in SL with a benefactor.
There's no guarantee that we can do it in the Championship, either - the loss in revenue would be massive, and although costs would be much reduced too, it'd be a challenge. It'd be on a more manageable scale though. If the people left holding the baby are not very, very wealthy, the Championship represents a less daunting prospect, I reckon.

| I don't think Hull FC are in a much better position.
So far they have offered non season pass holders
5 for the price of 4 for tickets
£5 to get in against Castleford
£10 offer via email for the derby
£10 offer via email for the Catalans game
25% discount on replica shirts before the season even kicks off.
You can all say they are trying to get fans in through the door but were does that leave season tickets sales for next season?
You might as well hang on and wait for the offers for non pass holders.
Pearson will not bank roll Hull FC for too long.
