What's the difference between a supporter and a fan?

Genuine question, I'd be interested in hearing varying definitions.

I don't smoke or drink and am retired, but make sure I save enough during the year to buy my season pass. Unfortunately my finances don't stretch to away matches. However, having followed my team since the late 40's I think I do qualify as a true supporter.

Both the same to me stan , people coud twist certain things to meet the agenda they want I.e to be a fan you must be a fanatic , to be a fanatic you must go every game home/away and watch them train , buy all the shirts,hoodys, keyrings, calenders etc etc.

I say a supporter is someone who supports or makes an actual contribution to the club directly whether that be by attending games or buying merchandise etc.

A fan is someone who keeps an eye on results and goings on at the club through the media etc. - that the way I see it anyway.

Anyway, got 5 tickets for the game yesterday because I've got a sneaky feeling we may about to hit a run of form and win some games including this one.

Hull have an abundance of depth in the back row but we have more strike threat across the park so providing our discipline doesn't go to back to old habits, I can see a Rovers win.

They are shallow, like a lot of fans. Finally they are being found out, after a few years of bluster.

After all, their hardcore fanbase is 1500 at most, the rest just floaters.

I had originally decided on abstaining from this game. I thought about it alot and come to the conclusion that I was showing the same disrespect the Hull fans show when the game is at Craven Park so I've now been out and got my tickets

We've built a brand new North. But TBF In years gone by you haven't brought enough fans to fill this 2600 seater North Stand. Hopefully with better facilities this will change.

Lets face it, when you have the north stand up and running we will fill it every year, our turnouts at your place have been very generous considering the absolutely disgraceful facilities you provide for away supporters. Anyway I'm not getting into that again.
