In the first half it was nice to see that we've balanced being terrible in defence through the left channel to also being terrible down the right.

We've also added not being able to defend a set on our line to not being able to defend one in the oppositions twenty. Far, far too many easy yards. Pryce cut us to ribbons.

For some bizzare reason reason we had Withers defending around the ruck, he must have made forty tackles meaning he was totally gassed when we actually got our hands on the ball.

Positives were that we didn't just roll over and die after they scored first in the second half, but to be honest, the score line flattered us.

After 43 minutes Catalans had scored their 5th try to be 26-2 up, you didn't score your first try until the 50th minute. Yes, the difference in the end was 8 points. You scored a try with a minute/2 minutes to go but still required another 2 to win, so yes, they beat you easily/comfortably.

They beat us by 8 points I wouldn't say that's convincing really yer the scoreline prob did flatter us in the end but we never gave up, round 1 long long way to go yet

Catalans were in cruise control after the Fakir try. I have not seen Rovers pack bullied that easily in years.

I have to disagree, I think that when we scored our penalty to take a 2-0 lead we thought we had the game in the bag and took our foot off the gas, this enabled Catlan back into the game, unfortunately we didn't pu tour foot back on the gas until it was too late. If we can cut out these blistering starts to the game we could be genuine contenders this year.

Nowt wrong with a bit of optimism in my book, however I think your being more than a tad over optimistic if you honestly think you could be genuine contenders though

He was carrying a knock from the first half. I know it sounds harsh, but he reminded me a bit of Jake Webster today. Made a mistake then started limping around for bit.
Cats were just too good for us, they did nothing other then play the basics. We looked fatigued early on, from having to defend so much.
Price tore us apart & Menzies is just class.
Not the start I was hoping for, but not the end of the world.

Totally agree with you regarding Meeks he was very frustrating to watch in the first half but had a good go after the break. Think Paterson was brought back down to earth with a bump too,welcome to super league cory lol
