| Quote: Paul T - HKR "It was announced at the POTY awards, and I think Craig will do a far better job than Mcdonnell; for starters Craig needs to be more involved and in this role he will be. Craig is an exciting runner of the ball and has an eye for an opening. As for being a classic full back, thats not the case these days but Craig isn't a bad defensive player and I feel his positional play has improved since he joined Rovers.'"

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I've clocked it before, it makes absolutely no sense and isn't funny on any level.

| Sands, as our "full back" guru on here, what do you think to Eden?
Despite his error count (thanks to La Cafe for bringing this to a wider audience), he had a promising debut season for the Giants. I think they would be mad to let him go.

If they already have 2 young fullbacks that are ahead of him in the queue because Anderson rates them more highly overall, and Rovers are putting cash on the table, it's not really madness to offload, more like common sense.

They don't though. Grix isn't young (2icon_cool.gif and Murphy has played most of his career at centre or on the wing. I rate Murphy higher than Grix, but he's untested as a full back.
All of this means (in my mind) that we won't get Eden, and we will be faced with 10,000 cackling voices as Hall drops another bomb on Good Friday.

Young in Hull FC terms. Anderson seems to have put Grix ahead of Eden. Could be that he has plenty of attacking prowess across the back line and wants a safe pair of hands at the back. Bit like at FC when McKinnon slung his hook we went with exciting prospect Russell from Wigan for bit. Ultimately, from a personal POV, I felt more comfortable with the less impressive but safer Horne or Whiting. I think the opposite, I think you will be getting a FB because you haven't got one in the squad as it stands. Hall is a talented player but has not delivered at FB yet. Whether it's Eden, and it sounds like it is, remains to be seen.

I've got to be honest and say that I haven't seen enough of him to have a fully formed opinion. I certainly remember him having an absolute shocker against us at CP.
He's got potential and seems half a fullback at the moment in that he looks good going forward but his positional sense seems lacking.
I'm surprised that Huddersfield would be willing to let him go, seems a bit early to make a decision to get rid even though they've got Grix and Murphy.
Interesting points on the Giants board about what you want from a modern fullback, it's certainly a position that's changed a lot over the last few years. I'd rate my priorities as this.
1. Organising the defence.
2. Being solid under the high ball.
3. Joining the attack.
4. Kick returns.
5. One on one defence.
From the little I've seen I'd say Eden is good at numbers 3 and 4, I haven't seen enough to judge him on point 1 and has a lot of work to do on points 2 and 5.
