If i was in charge of hull and actually wanted them to do well id of offered lovegrove a deal quite some time ago, id of scouted around for a good halfback but an experienced FB would be essential.'"
It was more to do with you suggesting you'd keep Clinton because you've seen worse players.

| Quote: very red robin "Ahhh you wanting clinton to leave and him actually been announced as leaving are 2 totally different things.
Hes not the worst ive seen in the SL era, hes had afew better games then crossman did.'"
Let's be fair, most players have had a few better games than Crossman did. Even Lee Gomersall ... maybe not. Andreas Bauer wasn't the best of signings - esp as it was based purely on a few home videos or something (but needs must tho' then)
Clinton has had some good games for us. He's also had a few games where his attitude certainly has been questioned. With this questionable attitude ingrained within our fans, his good games are quickly erased. I doubt anyone would be too sad if/when he departs end of the season. He'll still need replacing tho'.

Without knowing salaries, we could argue the following have been less value than Clinton in the SL era
So do I.
Ratu, Corssman & Gannon were all poor, but I doubt any of them command a salary as good as Clinton's.
My excellent ratio will be playing ability benchmarked against the worst/best players at Rovers, versus their salary. The higher the score, the bigger waste of space they are.
So, based on some completely made up figures, Clinton is on £120k, and has a playing value of 2 (that's being generous), he scores 60.
Ratu, again based on completely made up figures, is on say £30k, also has a crapness of 2, scored 15.
Josh Hodgson on the other hand, relatively low made up salary of £45k, and a playing value of 8, scores 5.6.
Obviously, this is not flawed at all.

Again someone else reading something that isnt there, pretty sure if you read it again i havent once said keep him, i certainly would get rid- if you look back i was the 1st to start a thread about him not even wanting to be here, but it doesnt mean hes going unfortunately.
But he certainly isnt the worst weve had in SL imo. Thats what i was getting at. Hes had afew good games where you think if only he did that everyweek he would be class, where as i may be harsh here but i dont recall crossman having any game like that, he was just a pudding.

He can't be worse than James Goulding when you take into account who Goulding replaced can he?

| Quote: Seventies red "Why wouldn't he? just because he said he would prefer playing doesn't mean he would turn down a coaching position within the club, especialy if it guranteed him a longer period at the same club as opposed to perhaps just one more year somewhere else as a player, he's already said that he will be very sad to leave Hull Kr, just my personal opinion of course.'"
Any coaching position would still likely be there for Galea if/when he decides that's his future. For now, he thinks he's got another year in him. Galea would be a very useful signing for a few clubs I'd imagine. Certainly as a stop gap for a year, if nothing else. You only have to look at Steve Menzies to see that age sometimes is no barrier to a quality player.

Please see the post above for what I've taken into account.
Feel free to use the ratio, anyone's allowed to use my ratio.

But Goulding would mean you would have to add an extra inflation variable into your salary figures due to how long ago he was at Rovers.
As for Ben Galea i'm a little torn over the issue because he clearly still has it but in the same breath he is picking up more and more injuries.

| Crossman was a great player (if you wanted someone to drive the ball up the field a whole 1 metre).
Our worst signing (apart from the prominent jawed one) was a certain Mr Bishop, a man who thought he was god's gift to rugby league but clearly wasn't.
As for Ben, great player, but as I posted a while back, if he get's injured again this season, would unforunately become a liability and we should let him go. Real shame, and his ability and leadership is fantastic, but new blood is needed. That said, if his replacement is also 30+ I would question the reason for letting him go.

| Mr Bishop was a good player. Maybe he was a Edit-AS but it doesn't take away from the fact that he was a good player.
Regarding James Goulding, How the hell could we let a strike centre like Austin leave for this pudding. Couldn't fathom it out then and still cant now.

David Bishop was quality, just never fit enough. The players around him at Rovers weren't good enough,

| James Goulding was the only pear shaped prop I've ever seen, he made David Hoskins look good lol.

| For those Bishop supporters out there, I've probably just turned bitter and twisted over the years so apologies. Was never as good a scrum half as say Harkin or Parker though IMHO.
