Why was you at the rovers kit launch today out of interest?

| Cant stand the badge kisser..when he is in his black and white hoops, but come saturday I will cheer all of the boys in red and white including Kirk and Tom.
Hope we ALL get behind the team on saturday and show the rest of the RL world why this city should always be in the frame for forthcoming tests.

Because the best left centre in the city is playing left wing on Saturday

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Briscoe got totally owned by Welham when playing opposite him at Cardiff.
Maybe Briscoe no longer has any plans to move into the centre.

I'm a massive Tom Briscoe fan. I love seeing him with the ball in space but his all-round game hasnt developed enough in the past 3 years to be considered a potential international centre. I fear that we wont see him given the opportunity at club level to prove himself either.
In terms of the Yeaman/Welham argument, i think Welham wins hands down but i suppose as a Robin i would. Yeaman will get my support on saturday though and i think he will impress at the KC against a limited Kiwi threequarter line. However, i will allow myself a quiet grumble if he plays like he did last week.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| From what I've seen Welham would suit this England's sides style more than Yeaman, but in saying that I expect Yeaman to have a big game on Saturday.

| Whether Welham is better than Yeaman or not is a mute point as Yeaman has been picked and will play on Saturday (I assume) as such we need to support him and the rest of the boys. I still think both he and Reed will struggle because neither of them will have a clue what their SH is going to do.

Nail on the head, so many times Yeaman and Briscoe have ran into the gaps in front of them and Chase just runs side ways and seems to be expect to drop one of them off and they end up over running him and he spins around and gets tackled.

I don't see where welham wins "hands down" to be honest. Obviously macnamanra feels the same and I doubt any non rovers supporting rugby fan would be of the same opinion.
welham may well go one to be a better centre than yeaman but he currently isn't. His defence is awful (I know some sap will come out with the old "justin told him to come charging out of the line" excuse, but I doubt he told him to completely miss the man he was charging at on so many occasions).
I don'tactually believe either yeaman or welham are particularly good centres and if we had any decent English ones then neither would be even considered for the international team.
As for Briscoe, I think he'll be devastating at centre when he finally makes the switch there but at 21 he has plenty of time left to move inside

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Christ, don't let the Cas fans hear you say that, they'll be accusing you of racism.

Welham is developing nicely and may well become the England left centre in the future but outside of East Hull I dont know anyone who thinks he is the real deal just yet or that he should be the left centre in the current England set up!
Anyway would you want Welham to make his full international debut this year against the Ozzies or Kiwis defending alongside Rangi Chase?

I think you might be right. I think there are a few players that haven't quite hit it so far, but having come this far, contiuity is the way to go IMO. Especially with a few changes possibly enforced in the forwards. Fingers crossed. It's now or never for this tournament.
