Beginning to think the HDM would like to see Justin leave just to say "told you so".
Getting to the point were i'm really thinking of not buying the rag again, I for one what to read about facts and not what the mail understands or they believe'"
I have not lived in hull now for 4 years but when I did I stopped buying the paper i see it has not got any better and I stopped not just because of the bad sport coverage it is crap for everything it wants

Why should the club tell the fans everything?!!
I certainly don't expect it and it is not the way to run a business.

If this is true, and since Noble is "allegedly" nailed on for Cas, I reckon you'll go for Daniel Anderson or another Aussie. Can't see Hudgell judging Kear as the best candidate to bring silverware to Craven Park.

No doubt the HDM will carry an exclusive after reading your post. The Sydney Telegraph isn't a very reliable source Dobson signed for Canberra last season etc

| Quote: Aldy "How have Rovers treat the HDM like dirt?'"
When's the last time someone talked to us? The only quotes I can recall are from Morgan during his press duties and the odd snippet from Hudgell. It seems clear from the outside looking in, that HDM no longer have a lot access to Rovers.
I think the recent 'bad blood' ([sizeif there is any[/size) started when Rovers cut them out of the Mason week to start with. The Mail then (aided by Radio Humberside) did their sleuthing to 'uncover' the Dobson deregistering saga. The Mail then ran the Dobson 'free agent/contract terminated' story whilst HKR said no comment, instead preferred to issue their own statement on hullkr.co.uk. The story snow balled and over shadowed the 'what was the biggest signing in our history' story. Hudge then goes on record over the PA system at CP expressing his displeasure at both local media outlets etc.
If I recall at the time Rovers were getting a new website and started to aggressively promote hullkr.tv by releasing all/most of their content and news through this media stream. This move no doubt improved traffic to hullkr.co.uk and helped the commercial partners in the process. But more or less cut out HDM/Humberside.
The problem what we’ve had this season is the relentless PR disasters that have happened. We don’t want to talk about them and so the likes of the HDM have had free rein to say whatever they like. ‘The Mail understands … followed by ‘Sources close’ are a proven winner. Because we’re not talking to them our side of matters haven’t come across. Thus we can’t control or limit what bad press we’re getting … PR disasters.

Fair post.
You can ride the wave with the media when things are great but you must also swallow big pills when they arent.

Very fair. Clubs fall out with the local media generally because they've done something stupid and don't like it getting made a fuss of (see Reardongate and other mistakes at FC that resulted in banning RH for weeks on end). It's really just best to just front up. ATEOTD the embarrassing hype over Mason's signing and commensurate humiliation over the de-registration of Dobson and exit of Mason after 6 games was entirely on Hudgell's watch. He should have come clean straightaway rather than let the local media tease the story out over a long and damaging period, and then sought to build bridges. Not speaking to the local media only hurts the fans IMO.

In the case of the HDM I really don't feel it does - there are so many other ways to get Rovers info these days, if HDM stopped all coverage of us tommorow I don't think it would affect the club e.g. through attendances or merchandise sales.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I don't agree, for all its faults the HDM along with RH is the main source of info for the vast majority of the fanbase. Negative spin (or god forbid no press) on the club during the closed season could see a downturn in actual pass sales. It can also have a negative effect on the ability to generate sponsorship for the club. If for instance a Hull based company wants to sponsor a team would they go for the team surrounded in negative press ore no press or would they go for a team that had the back page each week.

| Hull kr must want rid of Morgan otherwise they wudnt be allowing him to speak to cas this week, so if he doesn't get the job at cas is it gonna be all negative at kr for the next two years until he does go, morgs and hudgell always been close, not anymore.
