| Hall and Welham in the centres.
I nearly feel sorry for Rovers fans.

Right either the HDM dont know what they are talking or I have got the quota rukes wrong.
www.sporthull.co.uk/headlines/Hu ... ticle.html
Players non Fed trained
Dobson
Galea
Newton
Webster
Clinton
Can apply or have exemption.
Fisher
Vella
Altoght Newton and Galea can come off the Quota (which is a waste of time now), they would still count as 5 non Fed trained players right?
You can only get exemption if you signed before September 2007?
Even if tehy can you would have to hope that the didnt take advantage of this as they would have 10 overseas players in the squad next season.
Not good for the game if it happens.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| The limit on overseas players needs to be self regulated.
I don't agree with exemtions and would like to see it drop further in the next few years.

I feel exactly the same - except there is the very real probability that the HDM dont know what they are talking about and I have got the quota rules wrong.

I agree. I see no reason why clubs should vote these rules in and then spend the rest of the time trying to find ways around them. Having said that I suppose any club worth its salt will pursue every opportunity available to improve it's squad.

Someone did post the explanation of the rules on here last week, but I cant find it, it must be written somewhere offcial.
It wouldnt suprise me if the RFL didnt really know the rules either.

Rovers youth is the best it has been for years, so should be looking at ways to reduce their overseas players.
Having 10 players in your squad and you would imagine that if all fully fit would all be in the 17 would be terrible.
I agree with the clubs voting, but think it was a legal challenge by a player that started all this exemtion buisness (which Hull also use at the moment).
I would guess this is HM making a story out of nothing.
I would hope that the RFL take the ammount of overseas player into consideration (official or unofficial) when choosing the next franchises.

If he is turning down more money and the opportunity to play regularly in his best position, I'd think it slightly foolish. Unless Hull are offering a longer deal, [imaybe[/i. If neither KuH club regard him as a starting centre, he should look at options outside the city IMO.
He'd be a gamble for Rovers, but all signings are. For him, his opportunity looks, from the outside, to have passed at Hull - I can't understand why he'd want to stay. But then, I'm not at all well informed.

It's an interesting situation, if Rovers keep Webster then I would guess he could be behind him and Welham at Rovers.
I still dont think his Hull career is over and has a chance to still make it at Hull, Agar and Hull have given him plenty of chances at Hull, but overall hsa failed to deliver, but you can see the signs of what a good player he is, maybe thats why he needs a new club.
From what I hear he is happy at Hull, and obviously thinks he has a chnace of making it there, maybe he wants to back himself? If he stays (and not too bothered either way, leanign towards staying though), unless we sign a top centre, which is unlikley, he will challenge Turner for the centre position next season.
I think a move to Cas, Wakey or Bradford would suit him IMO.

The new NRL TV deal and the weakness of the pound may make the rules irrelevant. SL will become weaker, as the flow of players is reversed - except they'll be taking our best. There will be more opportunities for British players to develop, here and there, though. The standard of play will drop here, at least temporarily, but the quality of entertainment should remain high.

I'm not sure. T. Briscoe looks committed to the wing now, fair enough. But if Calderwood gets fit or is replaced, I would assume Whiting would move to centre, with Turner and Hall fighting it out to be first reserve.

I agree, although its a fact the club's priority is both signing and developing young home grown players. The youth setup is exceeding expectations, but it is still in its infancy and might be a year or two before it can be relied on to produce decent numbers for the first team squad.

I would like see Whiting move into the pack and used for back up in the backs.
We need a bit of pace in the centres so it should really be Turner or Hall.
I cant see Calderwood being at hull next year, so Hull might decide not to replace him, as maybe their isnt a good enough player available and go with Hall.
Hall would IMO be a starting player now when all are fit at the clubs i mentioned so maybe he would be better off there, Kear has a habit of improving players, Shenton's replacement at Cas and I know Bradford made Hall a good offer last time he was OCC.
