The Grand Final is 12 months away yet, as is David Mills leaving Rovers. I think. Staying/leaving/released/paid off/told he can speak to other clubs/integral cog in the Rovers machine..The "Mills Mind Games" - it's all too much.

New swear filter in operation, I see.
The topic is Rovers 2010 if you're getting huffy about thread drift. I see electronic turnstiles, hideous away shirts, suboptimal retail operations, 2 more derby wins and a 5th place finish. And Cooke's contract not being renewed. |

It is some record for a prop to maintain form for a full season given the physical demands and intensity of the position.
Not quite sure where you are coming from with the Graham Horne comparison. A fringe player who fills in here and there?

I dont think contracts should be given out solely on been available for every game in a season.... |

If a player is selected for all 27 league games and 3 cup games i would suggest he has maintained his form. Wouldnt you?
There is also a world of difference between been available for selection and actually been selected.

Sam Moa has just been given a 2 year contract on the back of his performances this season. Who is to say how he will perform next season? Nobody can predict the future.

Think the disappointing form of Crossman gave Mills more game time and your lack of depth at prop in general that year.
Last season when Vella got injured Mills must have thought 'here we go, I am in! time to maintain a bit of form....what do you mean Lovegrove is propping with netherton?'
Has Mills been given a fair crack since signing his deal or has Morgan changed his opinion big style?
Think Moa earned his contract by showing some 'good' form and he may well be gone at the end of next season, who knows, but I reckon he will need to play poorly to get released. |

Crossman missed only one game all 2008! Wigan away Easter Monday.
As i have said previously on this thread, Mills form has gone downhill fast this season and not taken advantage of any of his opportunities in first or reserve grade.
Doesnt change the fact he was worthy of the contract at the time it was offered.
